LOVE Superdrag. They still rock! I always think of this album and Nada Surf's "High/Low" in the same vein. Probably because the two bands were label-mates and one hit wonders around the same time. Glad they both still know how to bring it.
I had the album and loved the song but never saw the video until today.... (5-23-11)...... don't know why either. Same with a couple others I see on the side. I give this video a shoddy 4 or 5 out of 10 but the experience of reliving the past was an 8.
This was an M2 staple back when it first came out. Also remember seeing them live on 120 Minutes. Thought it was wicked ballsy when they added a little something to the chorus "Who Sucked out the Feeling? Music Television!"
Who is responsible for American Movie Classics? Can you please make a new music video channel? I know it is hard now, but do it with a light budget but a certain personality and you will "make bank". Talk to Rockstar Games, maybe they can help you... though their background in "east coast hip-hop" and the music selection in GTA IV does lead me to question their ability... But just look at the effect "Vice City" had on popularly known music. Everybody stops for a Vice City song. It can do.
the 90's, wow the days when I was in middle school and on the days when I don't go to school me and my buddy would set the porta-potties on fire just for the hell of it.. Go to the bowling alley and buy a pack of cigaretts in one of those cigarette dispensers... Riding huffy bikes till the moon comes up...
@ZoopSoul The former Johnie's Broiler in Downey, California (now Bob's Big Boy Broiler). You can see the original 'Fat Boy' mascot on the wall in several shots.
You know, I was in my "magic high school years" in the 90s and love this music as much as anyone, but I pity people who are stuck in any one decade and who think "music sucks now." There's ALWAYS something great out there, and if you really love music you'll always find it. Anyone else is just lazy grump.
I got this album when it came out. I really like it, it has a good ol' rock N roll feel to it. I still listen to it today. The cool thing about it is that it was recorded in 2 different studio's and you can hear the difference in the sound halfway through the album.
Ah... the good old days... when you could smoke in a video... and a pack of cigarettes was under $2. Great song and great band.. I remember staying up late in high school to watch 120 minutes... now you can't even see 120 minutes worth of music on MTV in an entire week...
@possumverde You can't even see 120 Minutes worth of music on MTV in a year....On another not these guys are from my home town and I saw them before this even hit MTV...I love this band.
@possumverde Remember when they came out with MTV2 because MTV barely showed any music videos, and it was nothing but music videos. Oh how quick it became a channel of MTV show reruns. What a flippin' joke that was.
@blownfuse26 The same thing that happened to MTV happened to Discovery, History, etc. Even recently they've cut 'Earth', everything about the Civil War, US History... Now it's literally GARBAGE, like Pawn Stars and American Pickers - Just another way to get you sedated while the advertisers do their thing. Very sad.
@possumverde yea i used to stay up late just to watch 120 minutes but now MTV don't play decent videos anymore. 90's was and still is the shit. BEST DECADE OF MUSIC.
LOL, I'm right there with you. I haven't left and I'm 29. I still wear torn up jeans and a t-shirt, while listening to Summercamp, Sunny Day Real Estate, SIlverchair, Hum, Failure..you know bands radio stations simply won't play anymore.
Back when music was good. Surprisingly though, a lot of good music has been coming out nowadays, although there was a pretty shitty period between then and now.
just rang in my mind this melody .. great song in 90's .. dude, great times back then .. radiohead, greenday, oasis, collective soul .. aired on mtv so much .. always look up on to 70's,80's, 90's but .. 2000? suck!!! who suck out the feeling?
I also remember when MTV used to be "all about the music", and that they created MTV2 for music and MTV remained for programming. Then the bullshit programming spilled over into MTV2, and the cycle started over again. Eventually they'll create "MTV Xtra", with "120 percent more music videos!!!!"
wow, this song came across my mind the other day, because i remember listening to it in the car when my mom would drive us around. which was about 1997/1998..good times.
I met the lead singer after a show in Houston. Really cool dude. Told me a great story about how Bob Dylan got the Beattles stoned for the first time.
peple of the eighties glorify the 80's and says 90's suck now its the 90's people turn to glorify themselves and look down on the 2000 music..well not all are good anyway..wait till we hear it from the 2000 guys..
this song is awesome, reminds me of fucking 5th and 6th grade, im fuckin 24 now! this song sounds a lot like old weezer too, which is sick! the blue album was another of the best albums of the 90s!

This song is amazing. The Summer of '96 it was this, Nada Surf's "Popular" and Garbage's "Stupid Girl" in constant rotation on MTV and it never got old. I was 14. Amazing the memories a good song brings back.
hell yeah. 96; last year with great music. i couldn't remember this for years. i just remember they were in a diner and that i loved the song. been searching for years. haha. this is awesome.
I agree. Summer of '96...when MTV fucking PLAYED Music on TELEVISION...This was the last time music was good on a WIDE scale. Very VERY VERY good music summer of '96 i'll never forget it.
yeah man same thing i remember they played this Nada Surf Popular and Oasis all teh time on buzz bin, also Metallicas Load with some contest where they hang with some regular dude.
Regretfully Yours was truly a masterpiece. Don't get me wrong, I love Weezer, but I would put Regretfully Yours against any of theirs. It's unfortunate people labeled Superdrag as a one hit wonder, which, in my opinion, they are not.
I always loved that they blur out the burning dollar at the end because burning US currency is a federal offense. :)

I agree. Summer of '96...when MTV fucking PLAYED Music on TELEVISION...This was the last time music was good on a WIDE scale. Very VERY VERY good music summer of '96 i'll never forget it.

Funny you should say that. I heard that when Superdrag played this live they would sing, "Who sucked out the feeling? Music television!" Fitting.

Regretfully Yours was truly a masterpiece. Don't get me wrong, I love Weezer, but I would put Regretfully Yours against any of theirs. It's unfortunate people labeled Superdrag as a one hit wonder, which, in my opinion, they are not.
