Those ball bearings that you use, are they the insanely tough impossible to drill kind? I've got some of those, which I bought thinking I could just drill/tap a hole in them and screw in some threaded wire. This looks to be a promising alternative. Do you think a simple butane torch gets hot enough?
Thanks for making this video. Fairly inexpensive and useful for the independent animator. Another alternate method is to make joints from eye hooks by joining them with washers and a bolt and then joining them with wooden dowels although they don't have as much mobility as a true ball joint does.
Well I hope that new style of animation works out for you. Keep trying though, it did take me about 4 or 5 goes to get the process of making these puppets correctly. Also thanks for the nice comment.
very interesting. i have completed the armature and muscles for an allosaurus stop motion puppet yesterday. :) might make a video with it soon. thanks for all of the inspiration.

@TheCyberController How can you make one as a teenager and your parents won't let you handle tools like these?

Thanks Bernie. I didn't think I was that good at metal work, some of my joints are pretty shotty sometimes, but thank you.
