I went from this video, to checking out more of Blue Scholars music. Then I found out about Macklemore and Common Market, so I started listening to their stuff. Then I started listening to Grieves, till I found the Knocksteady video of him and Budo.

Went full circle, and learned that Seattle is where hip hop lives.

  • OFWGKTA isn't true HipHop???.... then WTF IS!?

  • @QuaDearMusic Kendrick Lamar just to name one.

  • Comment removed

  • @QuaDearMusic you are dumb, jay electronica is hip hop

  • @merkingGuy Jay Elec's rhymes are written for him.

  • @FukkinNonsense truth.

  • @FukkinNonsense Regardless they are absolute garbage...people just trying to feel hard as fuck listening to their weird shit

  • @d4w00L They are anti-mainstream and that Is what their music is about. Tyler is a story-teller, Its not weird at all. Dont let music be limited to what you hear, The lyrics need interpreted. Dont hate on something you do not understand, People dont listen to it to be hard...They listen to enjoy the music and hear what they have to say.

  • @d4w00L What!? i know I don't listen to them to feel hard, i listen to them because they're talented not to mention they've got one of the best Lyricist to emerge in the last decade, EARL SWEATSHIRT

  • @QuaDearMusic shut up you dick riding fag

  • @merkingGuy You mad Earls a better lyricist than Jay Electronica?

  • @QuaDearMusic your actually saying Earl Sweatshirt is a better lyricist than Jay Electronica?

  • @QuaDearMusic lols. more odd future dick riders

  • @QuaDearMusic define lyricism. I bet you confine yourself to the chains of metaphors and similes huh.

  • Every time i see Sabzi i see Jay Baruchel

  • hahah play sudoku and shit!

  • 0:49 to get to the song

  • Beat = Beast. As. Fuck.

  • This is Seijun Suzuki from their newest album "Cinemetropolis."

  • BLUE SCHOLARSSSS <3

  • Hey everyone, found out the song name :)

    It's "Seijun Suzuki"

  • blue scholars sounding like das rascist now lol

  • this is awesome!! good to see some familiar faces from knocksteady

  • for those of you wondering, the song is called "seijun suzuki" from their new cinemetropolis album that comes out june 14

  • You dudes are crazy that Cinemetropolis intro is ridiculous.

  • what song is this?

  • sabzi <3

  • sick as all get out. Nothing can compare. Nothing, and Sabzi gettin down on the mic is hella sweet. Hella.

  • blue scholars switched their sound up... im not really feeling it as much as the old shit

  • nani? wakarimasen!

  • so not feeling this new shit. go back to Bayani style please

  • @BigThier96 As far as i'm concerned, Geo did his thing on the entire album and lyrically is still the same (if not better) as Bayani. It seems to me that the only reason why you think they changed is b/c sabzi is doing something different with the beat. If you were a true Blue Scholars fan you would be more open to different sounds than stick to one similar sound.

  • @jeremykao2 nah. it's that "yay rap is fun" type of rapping that annoys me. i used to dig the emotionless, almost non-chalent type of rapping you could heard on songs like Joe Metro. they turned kinda wack with that Oof! EP. not wack, but i don't know... it's kinda hard to explain. and as for the beats, well naturally, i think they fell off hard. props to Sabzi for producing the whole thing, but... i don't know.

  • @BigThier96 i'm not sure if you heard cinemetropolis yet, but i think the album has a couple joints that you might like and caters to your "non-chalent" type of rhyming. But you are entitled to your own opinion so...w/e works for you i guess

  • @jeremykao2 I heard it. I was disapointed. Tommy Chong is the best joint on it though, it is fucking dope. I like George Jackson and Yuri Kochiyama... The rest I don't really care for. And that's the thing, I could put Bayani on and let it run 'til it ends but I can't say the same with that album. They're still one of my favorites though.

  • @BigThier96 like i said, you are entitled to your own opinion and me personally, i enjoyed ever single track on the entire album. Yes Bayani was an incredible album, but cinemetropolis imho tops everything they've done so far

  • @jeremykao2 not to butt in, well I actually am, but tracks like Marion Sunshine and Rani Mukurji(spelling), they're just not as substantial lyrically. I mean, its like Geo wrote those songs in like 20 minutes. I say its a half half album. With the good tracks great, the bad ones... eh.

  • @jeremykao2 Bayani was the shit.

  • is there a website where you can get sabzi's hat???

  • 1:14 LOL...

  • What song was he singing with the crazzy eletro beat?

  • @RimTim22 lol ignore that comment i didnt know what i meant but i was asking what does it say when is from the town down to the bay sukers play ___________?

  • damn i bet working for knocksteady always puts dumb in some awkward situations cuz hes a emcee too but he probably can't network because he has to remain professional.

  • that intro needs to become a full beat/song

  • @GLep15 Exactly I usually replay the video just to listen to the intro

  • @d4w00L You think there mainstream? Definitely not. Are they as good as knocksteady? Definitely not.

  • @d4w00L I like both they are different styles OFWGKTA is just for being reckless.

  • @d4w00L no mainstream is lil wayne and drake.

  • @TheGoblin364 i apologize for not being clear. OFWGKTA is not mainstream its just hipster hop. people who want to be cool by listening to something different from mainstream for the sake of being different. its garbage regardless

  • @d4w00L i listen to music that i like because i like it. i dont give a fuck about anybody else or what they like its not at all about being diffrent.

  • @d4w00L why are you bringing up odd future on a KNOCKSTEADY video? totally different style bro. and who said that ofwg was true hip hop anyway? lol

  • Great shit.

  • JIZZZ EVERYWHERE CAN"T STOP!!! THIS IS SO FUCKING GOOD

  • fashawn, perhaps?

  • @thatkiddk you forreal bro? Tyler, The Creator does not support the movement at all. He's as mainstream as it gets... Real independent hip-hop is Bambu, Blue Scholars, Grieves/Budo, DFD, Intuition, Jin,... that list would go on for a while but Tyler the creator has good music (I'm using that term VERY loosely) but not good enough for KNOCKSTEADY.

  • @thatkiddk Earl is in a boarding school in Samoa...

  • I would kill for that beat

  • @andrewhall. according to the kexp interview, this album is 100% sample free. their jazzy-feeling stuff is and always will be what they are known for, but the message of their music still remain. that is more important imo. props to the blue scholars. lookin forward to that new album
