  • how is she diving without a BC device?

  • now would if a shark or something came or attack him....how this fuck would he get away with that stupid tale on him tsk tsk tsk lol

  • @jaszylaz527 first, the mermaid diver is a 'she', not a 'he'. Should be obvious looking at her! Second, it is stupid tail, not stupid tale. Spelling, eh? Third, she dove with dozens of sharks, and the sharks were always afraid of her.

  • @UWvideographer .....and fourth , lmao your WAAAAYY too hype

  • Wow, that's like the worst idea for a swimsuit ever: Sharks and shit like nibbling at us cuz we kinda look like fish... let's make it so we really look like them.

  • Cool suit but this is a bad diver with all the wrong techniques! Touching coral ruins it and the entire scene around it, not to mention it wastes so much energy to not swim with your body completely horizontal... a mermaid-worthy diver would know that, and not put up a demo video demonstrating damaging actions.

  • @sonjamermaid admitted - swimming technique could be improved...

  • wow where can you buy something like that *O* ????

  • i wish i was a mermaid diver :(

  • Nice Who is she?? She is very graceful underwater. Must be hard to do

  • mermaid's are real but don't really look like the ones we see there are but we never know

  • i can see under water you just need to get used to it and not breathing just dont stay underwater for 3 mins OK:) well i still like his tail and ilovetodayy you dont need to be mean. He just was not used to the water yet. I just like being nice!! Thumbs up for me if you agree and if you are nice!!:)

  • what a poser..

    fuckin' mammal..

    can't breathe for shit >:0

  • @ilovetodayy Really? Oh my gosh! I was so fooled, thank you for showing me the truth!

  • wow! i love it! <3

  • funny looking a mermaid with scuba on too bad there are no real mermaids

  • i love that yellow divesuit^^

  • You said that you can get almost twice the air e"fish"ency (excuse the pun) correct? So does that mean you could take a smaller tank and get pretty much the same amount of time as if you had a regular suit and tank, yet have less on your back and possibly even more maneuverability?

  • Yes, indeed! Good idea, never thought about this tradeoff. Worth trying...

  • Yah, ever since I was a kid I've wanted to be able to breath underwater without a huge tank on my back, even if I could only stay there for 5 to 10 minutes at a time.

  • woah ... if u take this video... u also had gone into the water??

  • Yes, that's correct, the mermaid diver and I went down to about 90 feet or 30 meters in these clips

  • dik

  • I don't know what is wrong with the people who commented about this. There is nothing wrong about believing in something and then acting it out. After all enough people believed in God to make it a religion.

  • Yikes. What a terrible way to go scuba diving. So much loss of control and boyancy. I guess fora shallow dive it is fun for the novelty. However, speaking as a professional diver, I would prefer to enjoy every dive and maximize the potential.

  • No, what a wonderful way. The models who tried it all loved it. Typically air consuption dropped by about 30% - 45% (same diver, same type of dives). The loss of buoyancy is a non-issue with a tail's propulsive power.

  • Forgot to add - the deepest dives with 'mermaids' were about 110' deep. But you are right that most of the dives were in shallow water, up to about 60 or 70'. BC's do NOT work well with mermaid suits and distract from the streamlined elegance.

  • mermaids are real!!!!! you will be lucky to see one cause theyre really good hiders!!!

  • way off topic, but I love the instrumental "memory" you have as teh bg music.

  • FEET

  • Duh! From the description:

This is a diver in a mermaid-like divesuit, not a mermaid. There are no mermaids!

  • i see her feet duh

  • O_O! I want that suit!

  • she doesn't do the mermaid swim right , your not supposed to see that much of your knees.

  • you do better then!

    I say Well Done!

  • Ok everyone that doesn't belive in mermaids, they might be real. You have no proof that their not. Wow YOU havent seen one. One day someone probally will. So what if it's not a human mermaid. Soooo... stop saying their not real....:)

  • You are cracked. Do you believe in the Lockness Monster too? What about the boogie man? How about unicorns or magical elves? Do you think the tooth fairy is real too?

A girl in a mermaid wetsuit and swimming with a mermaid fin does not provide any proof that mermaids exist. if your excuse is "you have not seen one" then produce evidence.

Have you ever seen a Smurf? According to you they just might exist. With that reasoning anything can potenially exist even a flying zebra.

  • cute diver i like her mask looks good on her though how does she swim with that monofin must be hard

  • I made this video, and the "mermaid" told me that swimming with this monofin/mermaid suit was easy and a lot of fun. It was very hard to keep up with her, as she was so incredibly fast in her mermaid outfit.

  • mmm its zo stupid

  • dish!

  • do you really can sweim or dive better with that suite?

  • You bet you can swim and dive better with that suit on! Twice the speed or half the air consumption, compared to a two-fin scuba outfit. (Divers use air, not oxygen).

  • or *

  • oh ok :) and did you make that suit yourself of can you get a suit like that ?

  • disurbing in a realy wierd way

  • Since I'm correcting spelling all around here,

    your comment would be

'disturbing in a really weird way'

Care to elaborate (that means "say more") why you say that?

  • Are you a marine biolagest? how ever you spell that .. ?

  • Marine biologist :-)

But your spelling is phonetically quite correct, meaning that if someone would read your spelling aloud, it would sound about right.

  • mermaids are real and i dont care if anyone tells me there not true they are!

  • Do you have evidence for claiming this nonsense?

  • i dont but i kno there hideing out there somewere my friend swam with mermaids and i am truly not kidding so dont tell me there not real cause they are and thats final!

  • You may not be kidding, but your friend surely is kidding you!

  • I dare you to try to swim fast when a shark is chasing after you!

  • Once this mermaid diver was chasing a shark, trying to get a video clip of the shark. As fast as a girl in a mermaid suit can swim, a shark can swim much faster. The shark, scared as they usually are, disappeared quickly into the blue mist of the depth.

  • As I said, in nearly all cases, divers chase sharks, not the other way 'round.

  • this is a very strange video..

    lol

  • i dont like the tail tha sasha make :S

  • go to how 2 make a mermaid tail and sasha will tell you how 2 make 1

  • i want all of these

    write me back pleaseeeee

  • i want one of those

  • anyone know where i can buy a mermaid tail??

plezzz! i would rele appreciate it if someone could tell me!

  • you can make a mermaid tail

  • [to mermaidluver]

I dont know whats wrong with me but I believe in mermaids I started crying and saying to myself i would go to any length to find and become a mermaid..... I guess I have problems but I've tried a few things and I know you think I'm crazy but I can't change how I feel! and well.... I feel they exist cuz, many things that don't make sense scientifically but, a start is how do you make a mermaid tail?

  • i cant see her real tail colour

    but cool

  • Hi!

And where is her inflator?? I couldnt see it...?!

  • No inflator (BC) is needed with a mermaid dive suit, nor is it recommended. The tailfin gives her so much thrust that buoyancy compensation is totally unnecessary. In fact, it interferes with the undulating swim style. And she looks better without a clumsy inflator, too.

  • Woow, nice thing!

    Thanks for information ;-)

  • Thank you so much, I really appreciate your help thanks again.

  • Im going to buy one but when I went on your website, I clicked the homepage of mermaids and I don't kno what to click in order to by one because I love mermaids soooooo much and I really want to buy the complete set with everything because I could afford it all.

  • The suits are custom measured, thus cannot be ordered just by clicking on the website. Suggest you go to the otterbay website and get their phone number and then call them. Have fun!

  • Im going to buy one but when I went on your website, I cliked the homepage of mermaids and I don't kno what to click in order to by one because I love mermaids soooooo much and I really n to buy the complete set with everything because I could afford it all.

  • You can but them of ebay for £6.99 just put in mermaids tail.

  • i love the music great really

  • ace but try and get a better colour next time

  • This is really beautiful. So, are you a professional Diver? How do you make your money? What is your opinion on oceanic wildlife, do you have any preferences?

  • where was this dive?

  • Most of the scenes were filmed in the Leeward Islands.

  • Thanks! I love otterbay's work!

  • they can try to swim better at lest.

  • Wow, now I want one. It looks like a great new diving experience. Great vid!

  • wow that suit is COOL. i would want one if i didn't have a shark phobia so much. thats why i cant go out in the sea :(

  • Don't worry about sharks. I've done ~ 1500 ocean dives, and have seen sharks in at most 1% of them. Execept for the few dives where we fed the sharks - the sharks disappeared quickly, obviously scared of divers. Sharks are such an old species because they are first and foremost: COWARDS!

Mermaid divers scare sharks even more, because they look like dolphins, and dolpins kill sharks very effectively. I have never seen a shark turning tail so quickly as upon encountering a mermaid diver.

  • VERY COOL...

and this coming from the Smoky mermaid...

    kewellllllllllll

  • This type of wetsuit is made by a small California custom wetsuit shop. Search for otterbay mermaid on google and you find it quickly. They send you a DVD with instructions how to take your measurements and make the suit using the measurements you send them back.A special monofin comes with the suit.

  • where'd u get da tail?plz write back

  • It's called the Mermaid Wetsuit, and it has been proven that a person moves faster with the mermaid scuba suit rather than with the regular 2 legged suit. It has to do with all the hydrodynamics and stuff lol
