its not even just the fashions in our schools that divide us. on the global level there are religions, "races," nationalities, etc. many people will hate another person simply because they belong to a different sect or faction which apprently opposes their own. or in the US we have political parties, and the whole "liberal" vs "conservative" divide....
(cont) ALL of these are mental divides, as none of them are truly real phisical differences. they are not real. (even "race" and "gender" are made up concepts to a large extent) most of them were also made up by those in power, either intentionally or not, with the purpose of dividing their subjects against the "others" and hence keeping them under their power.
yeahhh subscultures. when i was growing up...? it was so relatively simple in comparison, we had.....ready? the Mods, the Rockers and, and you had Mowtown and Stax Soul ....the mysterious Hippies
I was a Mod into Mowtown and Stax but also listened to the hip white music, and of course it was gettin weird, and I got very atrracted to the Freaks, and then there was LSD,,,,,,,,,,,,,
But point is there was this amazing silidarity sense between all ...at least to me

Here's how it went for me in school. There were Preps, Goths, Skaters, Punks, and normal type people.
