This is a glitch that no longer works, also, you obviously don't know enough about the game to know anything about this "1 hit kill". It's called a backstab. Hitting people in the back with the knife is an instant kill. Only Spys have it, and as easy as it sounds, it isn't. You have tons of factors working against you. Getting behind the enemy, putting on a good disguise, and staying alive to give yourself any k/d above 1.0 is a lot harder than you make it sound.

Things like this happen because of the hitbox tf2 uses to distinguish a projectile hit. All classes have the same size of hitbox, so a scout is the same size as a heavy projectile hit wise.

Melee weapons act as projectiles in terms of hit detection, so you can land a hit even when your crosshair isn't on the enemy. Same goes for backstabs. So although you missed the engineer, you still hit his hitbox.

I was fooling around as Heavy once. I was walking backwards in the third stage of Dustbowl, randomly punching the air in front of my face. I was taking damage from rockets behind me, but I didn't cease in my retarded acts (LOL).
