  • John Hughey had played with Dickey Betts and also with Conway Twitty. Possibly the most famous thing John had done was his magnificent steel part on "Look At Us" which is a part of this clip.

  • Mark Knopfler once asked Vince Gill to join Dire Straits, but fortunately for country music, he passed on that offer. Still, Vince did sing on a Dire Straits record, the same one that pedal steel wizard Paul Franklin played on. The late great John Hughey was the BEST steel player IMO.

  • True Professional right there!! One of the best

  • How funny! This is great, and he's spot on in a pinch. Thinks fast on his feet.

  • This couldnt happen to many musicians, they wouldve pitched a fit and cuss the sound guys out, but he made fun out of it , Vince is awesome

  • Andrea Zonn on the fiddle and harmony. Search her here on YouTube for more solo stuff.

Also Willy Weeks on bass; a very famous R&B and pop bass player. John Hobbs, session keyboard ace on piano.

'Course it's John Hughey on steel but surely everyone knew that. LOL.

The players that Vince attracts is a testimonial to his own musicianship and his respect and admiration of his peers. Not a lot of star ego there I think.....

  • @billcunn John Hughey...the greatest. Just like Vinny. A great team!

  • Vince Gill is awesome. Lol. Great sport

  • LEAVE IT TO VINCE WHO IS THE LADY SINGING THE GREAT HARMONY WITH HIM?
