they should seize 60% riches of those who were given their riches by the spanish+ those corrupted people in politics. they should add death sentence to all corruption. no court, just a bullet to the head. the rich are controlling the votes by keeping the poor and making them poorer. they should lift the law that a mayor controlls the police, and also ban all religons to interfere with voting or talking about politics. philippines needs a brave dictator who doesnt steal

As the reporter who did this story, I'd like to respond to the allegations that it reflects a "white media" conspiracy against developing countries. Every single person I interviewed for this story was Asian, all but one of them Filipino. The story reflects their analysis and insights. They know their country far better than I do. As for trying to demoralize the Philippines, I hope for nothing but the best for the country and its talented, industrious and good humoured people.
