josh is an awesome musician. in my opinion he is a very different guitarist to john and it worked really well to create brilliant song such as Did i let you know. I LOVE that song especially the guitar riff & solo. plus josh's voice is sooo lovely throughout the record and he really brings a new flavour to the music, instead of repeating the same type of thing that john did (which was fucking amazing but even the band agreed that it was time for a change) love. love. love. RHCP soo much :)

While I respect their decision to not do OHM songs, I whole-heartedly and vehemently disagree! That is one of my favs. There were a butt-load of great songs on that record that will never get to breath funky-rockness on people ever again. -___-

every song on the record is pretty good, and josh is a great musician...but in my opinion, it was always john who turned a good song into a sensational one

@sireric41 Good point. I agree that Josh is a phenomenal (I hope I spelled that right phaha) He is a very good guittarist and musician. But john...god. John is just one of those people that just cannot be replaced. They did the absolute best they could with getting a replacement.

One question I'd like to ask them is now that Josh is the guitarist will they attempt to do any music from Mother's Milk and One Hot Minute since those were albums John refused to play any songs from.

@TwistedSpeech No it wasn't John's idea only they mutually decided it. And Anthony Kiedis said that they are not going to play any songs from One Hot Minute.

@BassLineInMySoul According to an interview with John it was. He felt he didn't do a very good job on Mother's Milk, said it was embarrassing to him. On OHM he didn't want to play the album because it was someone else's work and not his. Which, I know, sounds weird because he played Hillel's music. I think it was more about him not being happy someone replaced him. Chad said in Modern Drummer that he would have like to have done music from One Hot Minute but he understood why John wouldn't.

@fantasystriker666 He thought he did a crappy job on Mother's Milk, that's why he refused to play any songs he wrote on that album. I think he played "Higher Ground" after rejoining but that was because it was a cover. I would love to see Mother's Milk and One Hot Minute come back since John is out and Josh is in. It's doubtful, but who knows. Only time will tell.
