This performance is by far one of her most honest performances, to have the man sitting there and watching her perform who at one time just wanted to kill her artistry, is what gives this song even a deeper meaning. The best artist to ever come out of Idol. She rules the vocals, the material, the performances.. heck even her covers are phenomenal. God, I want her to do "The Promise" someday in the future for one of her albums. <3

Looking at some of the other comments, Kelly seemed ill and yet manages to pull off an amazing performance. I didn't watch idol's 1st year out. But, I've been watching her performances on idol via youtube. There were times when she had laryngitis and other throat problems but she managed to stay strong and give great performances.
