  • i also wanted to ask if these thingies can show all scripts or they are only good for latin script.

  • i really dont know why people are so offended with my repolies? saome ppl gave me negative points, some ppl offended with words.. its just my opinion and my thought. if you like to store your books in that device well store em as you like. i would love to have that if those were around when i was a student (3 years ago). but i never prefer it as a primary reading device. i dont want to worry about warranty time when i am keeping my books.

  • I've bought one of these, yet I know what you mean about real books, especially very old ones. There is a sensuality about them: the crispness of old paper, the musty smell, the old font etc. I think there's a place for both. I bought the sony to read gutenberg project books of classics I don't own in book form. I get a headache from my PC. I'll still buy books from sales cos I hate the price of ebooks.

  • i agree with you about the real books paper books whatever. specially about the smell of the paper and ink and even the parfume you had on when you were buying the book ect. if some people don't understand the importance of these things in reading process, i suggest them to read a book about the brain system on their digibook;) kidding, pls don't get offended again. if you ask me i agree with both dreampowder and digibook fans. i deffinitly will buy one of digies for any case they are good for.

  • He's reading 1984 :) Good book.

  • its really usefull for students, but not good for reading novels in my opinion.. im kinda "book collector" and i like the smell of real ink and paper..

  • Same here.

  • You don't read by smell. And why collect one ton of books when you can fit the whole lot in the palm of your hand? Stop being such an old fashioned fuddy duddy!

  • because real books are beautiful! and they never go out of charge :) the only thing that ebooks are good for students so they can carry all their school books in their palm. when you hold a real book, it takes you away to the time you bought it. maybe you were just a high school kid when you bought it, or something else.. eBooks dont have that and i dont know an electronic device that can stand for 10's of years.

  • well thats pointless. wats wiv da big price tag. just get more books u want in the fuckin january sale

  • Hi there. I'm doing a presentation on ebook readers and was wondering if you would mind sending me this video so that I could include it? If you could email it to me I would really really appreciate it! :) Let me know. Many thanks in advance,

  • 350 bucks? Are you serious? With such poorly designed navigation? The screen kicks ass... but 350? give me a friggin break. Drop it to 80 and I've got one.

  • Neloforster, we don't need an entire uneducated commentary thank you, this is Youtube.

  • I begin to wonder how many people need to see you pratting around in Deus Ex: Invisible Wars. G33K.

  • I also believe that America used a nuclear bomb on the peoples of Hiroshima, causing devastating damage and tearing thousands of families to shreds. So, rainbowwarrior777, stop whining about things which shouldn't concern us much, such as the Japanese peoples eating habits, and come join the real world where you will find intelligence far beyond that of a whale.

ANYWAY this gadget looks rather nifty, really fond of that effect when changing pages, anyone know how much one of these costs?

  • Japanese people stealing other peoples pets just to eat them? What, you think Japanese people just come over to America, steal a horse, and go home? Wouldn't it just cost less and make more sense for them just to buy one? You've got to be mad to believe what you wrote. However, I do find it easy to believe that the Americans so nearly made the buffalo extinct, stole a country from its natives, and almost made them extinct as well.

  • It would seem rainbowwarrior777 hasn't quite grasped the concept of "Survival of the fittest". If a whale can't defend itself against humans then mother nature intends its extinction. Modern day or not, it's still a harsh environment, and humans still need food. I do begin to wonder if a whale would show you any compassion if you told it you post comments defending their kind on YouTube. I think you'd be swallowed whole before you even complete your sentence.

  • 1984

  • so much for the page flipping and clicking, let's see vids of screen with 1984 by Orwell on there.

  • I soo need that to read my pdf's... :)

  • Just buy the fuckin book you could by 150 copies for the same price

  • can you use this in the dark? I mean, does it have it's own light?

  • Great! Read E-ink sceen will be much easier on the eyes then LCD! I can read all day if I have got one !

  • I'll take one for Christmas

  • you know i want one of them

  • With that slow refresh rate , I'd rather read a real book

  • you don't get it you dumbass, the whole point is that you can carry 80 books in a package thats like 1/3rd the size of a regular book and the battery last forever. You could read over 37 books that were each 200 pages on a single battery charge. I'm soooo sorry that its inconveniencing you like half a second to refresh. Im sure it takes you at least that long to turn a book page.
