@TheCandyMan01 of course this video show you the technique very very slow. As title says, is a basic exercise to understand the simple move and the right point of pressure during the levers. In real life, obviously, no one attacks you in that way or stay freeze waiting for your reaction, but this kind of excersise are easy to apply in real situation. Thank's for comment, anyway
@TaramanniTeam i do kung fu and i can HONESTLY say this works in real life situations!
so dude was buggin my girl friend at a party and i told him to back off and then covered my girlfriend with my arm, then he grabd my arm and pulled me back..then he started talkin big while holding my hand and i did this and held his hand behind his back..then i swang him to the left and forced him to the ground on his stomach with my knee on his spine! he was quick to yell and apologise!
@BiggerDreamer these techniques help if u know how and why to use them also if u train regularly and improve ur speed and strength it will work EXACTLY like in training since they are slower to react then u are
Nice solid chi na basics. It's good to see people training for things not specifically designed for a cage fight. Practicality in the martial arts is far too often equated with what's effective in a cage fight, rather than what can help you defend yourself from an attacker on the street. People fail to realise that a trained martial artist is not out looking to fight people, ufc style in the street, and muggers are almost never trained fighters.
un'altra cosa;per quale proposito è stato girato questo video?
se lo scopo è la difesa personale, allora perfino il piu idiota non si lascerà prendere quelle belle ma inutili leve ai polsi e ai gomiti.
I don't understand wich is the purpose of this instructional.
If it is have been made to teach self-defense,it is useless;even the most stupid opponent will never let himself catch by those wrist-elbow locks.Come on guys,be honest...
@kampfschwein Lol if it's so useless, then why does EVERY law enforcement and martial arts school teach this? These are basic wrist locks, it's like learning how to write. And from my own personal experience, they are very useful, especially if you don't want to harm the opponent but simply put them down or take something away. As they're instructed to do in law enforcement. I guess everyone's a martial arts grandmaster now, providing they don't have to leave their keyboard.. *sigh*
@kampfschwein Ooh, and the military too, I don't wanna forget them :).You learn these right off the bat, then learn leg takedowns and throws. So yeah, they're pretty universal as far as uselessness goes lol.
@steveecker ack! almost forgot the women's self defense too. These moves must be pretty useless against a bigger opponent when they're trying to rape you, so i guess i'll just type at them next time i get attacked lol. See how that goes... :) My point being, they're not useless unless you don't know what you're doing, or if you were taught wrong. The simple basics always work, because they're simple. No human being can stand and punch or grab effectively if their limbs are out of proportion.
wow this is useful to watch and know. hope they have more in utube. watch & learn then try & do kool=) being knowledgable & fluent with all types of marial art forms is what all the greats have reiterated in all aspect of life: bsns, love, martial arts, literature etc...kool =)
wow! where in the fuck would u just grab a guys arm and just stand there in a fight first of all?this nice looking technique is only good for seminars, where it is a controlled atmosphere try it in a real fight and see if u don't ask for your money back where u train at.
This is there "Basics". I agree with you, I would also say that Just as a Beginner bodybuilder needs to know correct movements of the body before lifting over his body weight, so does the Student need to know how the body moves and doesn't move before he can be a better "Fighter"
excellent video. i did a seminar in chin na a couple of years ago and have forgotten a lot of the techniques. this is great for referencing and new ideas. thanks.
trully apllied kung-fu/tai chi, is too violent to be used in any sporting atmoshere, just like stick fighting/knife fighting. the internal styles usually target ancupuncture points, which is beyond the scope of sport. neat thing about kung fu training is that it's designed with you being the outgunned underdog in mind.
Ahh, yes my friend. Your name must be Dave. Dave learned a valuable lesson, as he would always walk up behind me and say, "ok, kung fu guy what are you going to do now?", usually putting a pencil to my throat like a knife. He then learned how easily his arm could be broken when he pushed me too far. Also, tight fighters such, as the fellows in this video can handle themselves... can you Dave? No, because your ignorance to a diverse art got your arm broke!!!!
if you haven't seen kung-fu live demonstratons - please DON'T COMMENT ON THIS VIDEO... nobody truly understands the power of kung-fu until he sees it ( or even worse - FEELS IT)...so see first than talk...peace
well my comment on this is that the video is pretty though. i think its dominated by the okinawan matsubayashi style and little of what i expect of kung fu.thanks
My take on this video is that it is an old fashioned method of training for specific attacks that rarely happen. If you become a master of these techniques, you had better hope someone attacks you this way. I personally prefer to also include some realism.
For those who don't understand. Kung Fu is an art form. Most of the derived Kung Fu Styles are passive aggressive. While Karate geeks and mixed martial artists are aggressive passive with mostly upright stances and short hopping steps. Artists of any style that are trained for the same amount of time, dependent upon the discipline of the trainee. A Kung Fu artist will defeat an opponent 80% of the time, as the are taught to evade and attack, not attack and keep attacking.
A Kung Fu artist will defeat an opponent 80% of the time
Thats bollocks,
the best defense is a good offense.
If you are right, why aren't the top fighters in the world doing kung fu? The top MMA guys, Fedor, Lesnar, The top proffesional boxers, the top russian sambo guys etc
whoever the best Kung Fu guy you know is, would get killed if he stepped into an MMA cage or a proffesional boxing ring.
Note the words... dependent upon the discipline of the artist. Kung Fu that I have witnessed back in the day dominate the aggressive attacker. Maybe, I should rekindle my passion for Kung Fu and start training again. It would take about 5 years to get to my former level of expertise. Since, you know so much about the MMA, I call upon you to can arrange a match for me in the MMA with yourself or whoever you feel is the best that you want to be like?
No problem Phil. Find any kung fu school around you, most will let you watch a few training sessions, you might be amazed. While it will always depend on the ability of individual fighters, it is all martial arts and should be respected in some measure. I have studied, kung fu (US), kempo (In Japan), and tae kwon do (US). So I have seen the diversities and from which I gain my strong "opinion". Peace!
I did not mean any disrespect from my previous comments. I agree all martial arts should be respected, I did Jeet Kune Do with Carl Lewis for a year. MMA fighters are good in the ring thats it, they all miss one key component to truly understanding the Martial Arts and that would be philosophy they only have completed half of there acheivements. and they are to narrow minded to realize that there are better martial arts out there they are just to high on themselves to realize the truth.
It would be so fricken cool if people were to actually see how they could use techniques instead of being close-minded. No shit people throw jabs and punches, I mean the people in the vid arent stupid, They actually are in a school doing demos and training!!! I am really sure they have seen somebody throw a jab or a punch. They must be doing this for a reason!
The point was, that in over 40 years of martial arts training and teaching, I have found that most Americans do not grab wrists of men to attack them. However, this might be useful to women who get their wrists grabbed. Anyway, it is not all that important. Just learn to handle grabs and punches !
The development of 柔術 was influenced by Chinese martial arts. Moreover, some historians believe that it originated from China and came to Japan about 1645, but there is evidence that it was known in Japan long before this date.
Honestly, the term 功夫 can be applied to so many things: cooking, housework, martial arts, a skill, so on so fourth and does not apply to only Chinese martial arts.
No offense intended, but people rarely grab men by the wrist, and so this is not a practical training tool. If we are attacked, it is usually a punch to the nose.
I agree. But hey ya never know. Maybe someone who admires you for being a serene or very manly man gets offended cause you wouldn't kiss them and they try to force the kiss on you in public and thats when this move comes into play.

lol, all positive comments, nice... u guys are 100% right i've been doing MMA for quite some time now and i've never been in a fight, and i've dealt with a LOT of assholes (two words, New York)...
That hrachinaa grab technique is pretty useful especially when your opponent grabs you by the chest with an iron palm swelling your lungs! GFG newbs lol
well about shaolin kung fu ....it isn't like dancing...those ((dancing)) moves can kill....and theres some moves to increase the chi as chinese call it or kei as japanese call it or shakora what ninja call it...and these chi power makes u surpass the human limits
you're just an ignorant piece of shit that opposes the chinese martial arts like most of the typical dumshits out there that don't know anything about what they're saying and back it up with some proof. Chi is scientifically evident, and has been performed live infront of ppl. so go fuck yourself mr top shit "i know everything about chi" and yes shaolin214 is right, it's not magical. ffs so many brainless comments on youtube.
molto belle queste tecniche, ottima concezione... mi piacerebbe davvero tanto intraprendere degli studi con voi, se non fosse che sono siciliano e mi sa che qui riferimenti non ce ne sono :-(
this message is for:"PRIMUSVILLE78": it's better if you lose some pounds before starting any physical activity. When you're fat you dont't have the endurance nor the flexibility to develop good martial arts skills, so i would recommend you lose some weight before joining any martial art activity.

well about shaolin kung fu ....it isn't like dancing...those ((dancing)) moves can kill....and theres some moves to increase the chi as chinese call it or kei as japanese call it or shakora what ninja call it...and these chi power makes u surpass the human limits
thegreatknight 4 years ago
chi does not exist. it is a way of thinking about power within the body but it is not a magical power. also, ninja are tools
guitarownzj00 4 years ago
nobody ever said chi was magical its just something that some can unlock and use that others do not know about or are not willing to use...like you.
Shaolin214 4 years ago
you're just an ignorant piece of shit that opposes the chinese martial arts like most of the typical dumshits out there that don't know anything about what they're saying and back it up with some proof. Chi is scientifically evident, and has been performed live infront of ppl. so go fuck yourself mr top shit "i know everything about chi" and yes shaolin214 is right, it's not magical. ffs so many brainless comments on youtube.

molto belle queste tecniche, ottima concezione... mi piacerebbe davvero tanto intraprendere degli studi con voi, se non fosse che sono siciliano e mi sa che qui riferimenti non ce ne sono :-(

here's a tip: tuck your chin and protect your neck first. the way you're showing the choke release in this video would get you killed.

this message is for:"PRIMUSVILLE78": it's better if you lose some pounds before starting any physical activity. When you're fat you dont't have the endurance nor the flexibility to develop good martial arts skills, so i would recommend you lose some weight before joining any martial art activity.

Nice video. Wrist locks and arm bars are very effective stuff. I learned most of that stuff in Jiu-jitsu.
