  • отлично)))

  • i hear hundreds of guitar solo about this song but yours is the best one.i play guitar& piano too.your style almoust same as mine, can you play havanna from kenny g? cause this song should be nice to hear with same style the way you play TSOYS

  • Once again you exceed expectations. Wonderful delivery. Beautiful tone. I hear much expression in your performance of this tune.

I love the ending. If you get a chance, check out my arrangement. It's a bit dark. I forgot what I was going to play so I improvised the first verse. Getting older is a pain sometimes.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • thanks, man. I will do that right now. and i'll subscribe as well.

  • The Em9 you voice at 1:08 sounds super. m9 is a favorite chord for me. I use it sometimes as a substitue for it's enharmonic (or tonic) Maj7.

1:21 is a nice treat also. I wish I had thought of that turnaround at 1:36. I might steal that from you.

    allen

  • i'm just playing baden's arrangement. you can find it on brazil-on-guitar (google that string). but thanks, man.

  • "Im just playing Badens arrangement"

I do not agree with your comment.

You are interpreting music and I can hear the feeling you deliver with your performance. That is what I admire about your performances.

Any damn fool can run scales up and down the neck. Too often in my opinion players get hung up on developing technique. They overlook the meaning of each note.

    Just one guy's opinion,

    allen

  • sure. and i appreciate it. but i was just giving credit where it's due in reply to your comment on the Em9 and the turnaround at 1:36 (ie, they weren't my ideas, i just learned the song that way).

  • troubleclef

    Very honest answer,

Your energy does come across well, making the "feel" very original

  • thanks, Johnny!

  • very nice i want contact with you sorry im from polend

  • Thank you so much for letting us know the german website to download the score of this wonderful music. And you play it very well.

  • i am fealling so small !!

    you are a great musician

    thank you for this moment

    ludo

  • beautifully done! thanks so much for posting.

we need more music like this in today's world!!!!

  • wow, wonderful! I'm so glad I discovered you. So beautiful and soulful.

  • troubleclef, that was absolutely fantastic. Really smooth and the timing was super. Just beautiful.

  • That was superb - I enjoyed every second. You style of play is very graceful and soulful, and the arrangement is beautiful. I can tell that you put a lot of work into smoothing the piece out. It must be a lot of fun to play.

  • thanks. well, i think Baden's version is pretty smooth too (understatement). I just try with my baby steps to emulate his mastery. cheers.

  • You can probably tell by now, the genre I'm most drawn to. It's high time I put some of this lush and extraordinary music on my own channel as well.

    Thank you for this.

  • I want TAB of thz song sooooo bad... T_T

  • look at in brazil on guitar . de. ,blind!!!!

  • I second that!

  • that is really, really good playing. Keep it up lad.

  • you're a very talented musician with a wonderful instrument it sounds so clean and so pure

  • WEL DONE. VERY BEAUTIFUL.

  • Lovely version! Played with a lot of feeling & delicacy of touch. Thanks a lot

  • U take my breath away ;). Prawdziwy mistrz . Thx a lot :) from Poland

  • Out of my mouth, aloud, and in awe came

    "That was nice, fella."

    Thank you so much.

You've inspired my next direction in guitar.

  • thanks

  • TroubleClef , I must bring my equipment to where you are, and play my songs for you. Send me a message to my account. I do all of the Tony Mottola arrangements, and even had a chance to play in front of him, before he passed away in 1995.

  • Hey troubleClef! I had written you before.

Fabulous !! I still need to post my stuff.

But first let me say, the thing that separates you from everyone else, is the pauses in your arrangement. I love how you give each note or each chord a "chance" to ring out. The part that kills me is 1:20 to 1:22 That is THE MOST romantic two seconds there is. The entire song is just breath taking. You continue to play the high "G" note from 2:12 to 2:20 from chord to chord. Wonderful, then you end Gmaj7

  • I appreciate it greatly. but, just so you know, the arrangement isn't mine. It's Baden Powell's as notated in the video details by clicking "more" in the box to the right of the video window. cheers.

  • Meraviglioso!! per favore ripubblica il video migliorandone l'immagine. Aiuterà a imparare dalla tua performance.

Amazing!! Please repost this file improving video quality. It'll help to learn starting from your performance..

  • Proof that the internet can be used for beauty

  • Wow...I could listen to the guitarist all day long...made my day...

  • Superb playing and that guitar sounds beautiful, could you please tell me what make and model it is? although I'm sure it's also your beautiful playing that accounts for the tone.

  • I adored this posting!!! Um presente aos ouvidos!!!

  • can you tell me please a book to learn all about your performance

    Thanks

    So Im your fan

    From New Zealand

  • Im from New Zealand!!!!well done!!!!well done

  • Very nice. You're a great guitar player as well. That's how I love hearing a guitar being

played. Once again lots of skill involved.

Really enjoyed your version of this song.

    Thanks for posting it, Dave

  • great man.just great

  • unbelivably clear and nice

  • You play just amazing! cleanest sound i ever heard! im learning this song now-comapring to you i souund like i play with my feets...very good playing!

  • Beautiful playing of a beautiful song

  • your guitar skill is amazing! you know i just heard Perry Como sing this song from the album titled Lightly Latin...he sung it perfectly. Would anyone know if the guitar style from Mr. C's album was the Bossa Nova style?

  • Once again your playing is simply superb. I was wondering if you've ever heard the song Meditation. It's a beautiful song. Another great one is How Insensitive. These came out when Bossa Nova ruled.

  • A gorgeous arrangement that was very well executed. Bravo!

  • i liked it

  • You have such a great talent and the ability to pull so much emotion from your playing. Plus, you are perhaps the cleanest guitar player I've ever heard; your chord extensions and span is something to marvel at - most people don't realize how challenging this song really is - excellent job - keep playing.

  • Beautiful

  • Magnífica versión. Puedes enviarme la partitura o decirme donde puedo conseguirla?

    Fer desde España.

  • I am on my second trip through your vids and have played this over and over. Thank you so very much. What awonderful world we live in now. With youtube ect.

  • I cannot get the DVD for the movie Sandpiper where this 1965 academy award winning song The Shadow of Your Smile is found. Maybe the movie is not as good.

  • i wouldn't call the movie great but it's worth a rental i suppose.

  • you can find it on youtube, i think

  • That was so sweet, it really sang to me. I'm in awe. Brilliantly done :)

  • You're simply too talented!

  • hey can you send me the tabs for that please??

  • nice;]

  • Man ur so good, that was so beatufull realy.

  • Buenisimo!!! Beautiful pace!

  • Top notch buddy

  • Very beautiful.

  • Your videos are helping my playing enormously. Our tastes and song choices coincide almost exactly. I am a huge fan of Brazilian, especially Baden Powell, and I frequent Brazil-on-guitar. The problem even with tab is getting the timing fingering and feeling. You demonstrate those elements so well in your playing that it has helped in my own. I was finally able nail Jansch's take on First Time Ever I Saw Your Face after watching you play it. Your Beatles stuff is giving me many ideas. Thanks.

  • Thanks a lot. You should post some examples of your playing!

  • Great job!

But does someone have a slow bossa version of this song, im having this song right now with my bass guitar lessons, i have some versions but not the fast one im looking for...

  • wow!

  • Lov it man!!!

Keep on posting more vids like dat...

  • great sound-great playing-great song

  • class a+ shit. love it.

One of my favorite songs!! Thank you for playing it over a year ago. :)

  • you wear a hat sometimes and sometimes you don't

  • aaah, that was fantastic ;)

  • that was really beautiful thank you sooo relaxing

  • Very nice! Thanks.

  • Beautiful

  • troubleclef....(sigh)you're one helluva guitar player!

  • The Shadow of your Spam, when you are gone

Will clutter up my page, and piss me off

Look into my eyes, you jerk, and see

All the ways you really bother me........

  • ahahah great lyrics

  • very tastefully done

  • I just watched the Sandpiper, loved the song and listened to alot of them done on youtube, and you are by far the best....my husband also learned how to play it! Mahalo

  • thanks. i saw the movie recently too. Not the greatest movie ever (my favorite over-the-top line is when Liz calls that guy a "terrible, terrible creep" or something like that.). Love that house that she lives in though. I don't think a bohemian artist could afford such a nice beach bungalow in California any more!

    cheers

  • Great job my friend i loved it ...i havnt ever ehard this song before im glad i got to and ...whats up with the cam fuzz?

  • this was recorded back before i realized one could *focus* the webcam. you'll see the later videos are somewhat clearer. thanks.

  • oh lol

  • Who is he?

  • WOW! Those chords at the end and your playing kick my ass.

  • Another song I love but forgot I did. My mum sung this all the time before she got dementia.. Will have to dig the lyric's out an learn it again...

    Lynn From Scotland

    PS EXCELLENT BY THE WAY

  • Perfect.

  • Great job!!! Played VERY nicely....bravo.....Check out Gigi MacKenzie sing the this song here on you tube...you guys would make a good match.....you play guitar and she sings!!!!!

  • bravo!

  • PRETTY NICE.. AMAZING~

  • One of the most beautiful pieces ever composed and you do it justice. Thanks

  • Beautiful....thanks. Could listen to you all day long.

  • There's a point when the playing of music becomes "artistry"...

    This is it...

  • that'd make a good quote

  • Thanks, Meeeeert!

  • Do you take requests?? =P I'd love to hear you do "The Way You Look Tonight" and/or the theme song to "An Affair To Remember" =]

  • wow. just... WOW.

  • brilliant!

  • You might be the right one to ask this of. I have been looking for two years off and on for a solo arangement of "Historia De Un Amor" and one for "Sabor A M"i but no luck. love your selections and your playing Art

  • Hi Art, I learned this by ear off a Baden Powell album ("solitude on guitar", i think). I'm not familiar with the other songs you mention. Thanks for watching.

  • I have a Laurindo Almeida arangement of Shadow of Your Smile and a few Guitar Pro versions I've found in the last couple of years but again yours is the best I've heard. Can you tell me where I can buy it or is it your own? Art

  • strauss what you gotta do is try and play the stuff you KNOW you can't play, and just take it like a measure at a time slowly

  • Belíssimo!!!! (Alice, Rio de Janeiro)

  • I love the way you're here for music only and nothing else, thank you! ;)

  • How the hell can you do that friend . I have had a guitar for years and cannot come close to playing a piece like that . I just wanna give up .

  • don't give up.

    and thanks.

  • don't give up! just buy the right books and your playing will rapidly progress. i suggest you Steve Khan's Chords Khancept and you will understand it in weeks!

  • this guys got over 100 highly rated videos, maybe a million views, .... ?

    you must be a comedian.

  • Misunderstanding. 123strauss wrote: (4 months ago)

    OK?

  • utube reply is a crap shoot where it goes, thanks for the correction.

  • Very nice...but would be even better if you kept it very simple...those are the best moments...don't like the campy bits.

  • great performance of a great song

  • Love the cap, the T-shirt, the easy way about you... just chilling, playing like a pro, but making it look so dang easy. Wannabes like us just watch, smile and shake our heads.

  • Amazing. In awe of your ability.

  • superbe bravo un très grand moment de guitare
