Rendering means: getting rid of the background...ask any professional.
As for this tutorial....may I suggest something that is well known within the sig makers community?
-Instead of makes the points and then coming back for them...do it while making the path. Simply make the point...and go back to the center of those two...make another one, and hold ctrl...see what happens.
