I had to tell my teenage son that black women have have curly, kinky hair. I explained to him that we put chemicals in our hair to straighten it. I showed him the history of black hair and the ignorance surrounding it. I am natural and loving it if he told me he hated it I would go everywhere with him with my fro blown out!!! We have to teach others how to treat us even our family.

I am so glad you are talking about this...my daughter feels the same way about natural hair...I just did the big chop on Aug. 1 and its still a two...but it is growing so great. We will prove it to them that our hair will be natural, beautiful and long...wait and see.

Natural hair doesnt have to be long to be beautiful. My 4B cottony hair was super long before I cut it and I just cut it because I liked the look of short twa hair. Long hair doewsnt = beauty Healthy hair is beautiful :)

I would not worry about it personally. He is brainwashed. My nephew still looks at my hair funny since I BC'd.He thinks that black people's hair is suppose to be straight. He thought I was sick or something. He almost made me cry. LMAO!!
