ive downloaded the google maps and it wont work.its saying it requires a reconfiguration to work properly.

you can also use blackberry maps and its free i have the phone.

Blackberry maps does the same thing! However, most people would like to have voice turn by turn directions.

@pexx1000 Yes. The application is stored on the phone, but all the maps are not. They need to download as you use the app.

Free software... a data plan is a paid service through your provider. All blackberry contracts will include a data plan.

HELP! This is so cool but i can't get my gps to talk to google maps, so to speak. I go outside like you do and it still has me at the tower, which is no where near my front yard. Does it talk to you or just give the turn by turn direction? Thank you for your time. It is much appreciated.

I Love Google Maps, The only down side is it will give you steps to your turn by turn but will not automatically select the next step for you on your route, you have to hit next to see what the next step is or memorize the route it gives you. I think this has something to do with the terms of agreement Google has on using the maps.

lol.... your welcome. It also works indoors too.... (see discussion below)... it just depends on how many floors are above you. When I took this video there were 2 floors above me. On the top floor it works. :)

First of all... GPS does not work indoors. If you use it indoors you are not using GPS but rather by tower triangulation which is not exactly accurate. The first gen iphone only has triangulation, the 3G does have GPS... but it still not going to work indoors, only the triangulation.
