  • I seriously want one of those.

  • problem is that there are no roads. If you've got vast emptiness without fences, these would work fine.

  • haha this is at the naval academy. in annapolis. i recognize the sattelite dish. GO NAVY; BEAT ARMY!

  • Russian Zubr more good of this ship ... )

  • nah nah,,,

i am not like ussr russia zubr,,,

zubr is more waste fuel gas

  • They are very noisy and easy to immobilise.

Not necessarily as easy to sink as they are floating by design. They are also not very fuel efficient and cannot penetrate terrain due to very poor menauverability and plenitful obstacles. They also make huge cloud when moving over land and huge water breeze over equipment when hovering. They are very cold for any non-covered passenger when used in winter.

  • If my rc hovercraft can move around land on just a little fan then i'm sure a real hovercraft with 600hp engines can too.

  • Hard to believe that thing is one inch off the ground.

  • More than that, look closely.

  • Actually because of the skirt system the craft is actually 4-6 feet of the ground.

  • Damn... that thing raped those bushes

  • the bushes loved it

  • These are sort of pointless, as the intended purpose was just to put AFVs on the beach --- fully amphibious AFVs (like the "AmphiGavin") and LSTs with flat, armored keels are more utilitarian, and get more "stuff" to shore at about the same speed.

Over land, they are less rugged and survivable than tracked APCs, and slower and less mobile than helicopters.

In short, LCACs are the worst of both worlds.

  • These can do much more than that they can deliever just about any ground vehicle the us has including the M1A1/M1A2 Abrams

  • As long as they are not in flames from enemy fires.....a big "if"

  • True but also you in a real landing these would have intense air and naval support

  • "Intense" my ass. We have no battleships and no naval CAS aircraft. Dieppe all over again, but worse.

  • If you think about it, it is amazing it goes on water.

  • only $90 of RPG or BAZOOKA could able to sink that... $300 of ANTI-ship missle could able to sink that hovercraft fast...

  • Correct! So why is USMC using them to deliver tanks in assault waves? If you read our video description links, we advocate using LCACs to deliver Army medium-to-heavy tanks AFTER the beach is secured by M113 Gavin light tanks that FLY in

  • don't bother with anti-american nationalists

  • that's a nice piece of machinery rite there

  • Ask him if him and his LCAC were at Annapolis on October 6, 1989?

  • no my bad...he was already back in port by september. He was on 2, 4 and another I forget. SC whitton was one of his Craft Masters(long since retired)

  • I think my husband is in that boat the LC ? is not clear. Is it 2?

  • lol i think it was a 6 or an 8 but it could be a 2. So your husband drives them, cool, gotta be a fun job :D.
