Actually, if you look at the Torah, you will find numerous examples of barbarism, misogyny, homicide, torture, cruelty, etc. Have a scan down the 613 mitzvot (Which is a list of all the Mosaic Laws of the Jews) and consider some of the terrible things that are said, every bit as bad as the Talmud. You'll find the mitzvat on Wikipedia. The Jewish religion is not a pleasant faith.

The second quote is about a bull who rammed a slave (not just a corpse) and the discussion is, how much money must pay the owner of the bull on his bull damage that did to the slave of man. It's beyond criminal law or morality. Talking about financial compensation. Since that the slave is property as assets that time of slavery, it was her financial relationship. When the word is translated wrong or part of a sentence is left off, it's not something that was in the Talmud to begin with. The Talmud doesn't say it's okay to have sex with any child, or that any human being is an animal. These made up "facts" have been around since the Middle Ages. They weren't true then, either. The most "amazing" part about this is that anyone still dares to call them "facts".

In Judaism the Talmud is considered the holiest of all books, the reason for that is that in the Torah it says something along the lines of "take heed of the scribes above all". Not only that but just ask a Jew (one who won't lie to you which is rare but possible) and they will tell you this.

So it's not at all considered the holiest of books. It's a great teaching aid, worthy of respect. Warts, and all.

Actually, if you look at the Torah, you will find numerous examples of barbarism, misogyny, homicide, torture, cruelty, etc. Have a scan down the 613 mitzvot (Which is a list of all the Mosaic Laws of the Jews) and consider some of the terrible things that are said, every bit as bad as the Talmud. You'll find the mitzvat on Wikipedia. The Jewish religion is not a pleasant faith.
