@stravinskij91 Why on earth would you compare her singing to Berganza, horne or i dont know who??? Stop having stereotypes of what is the "correct" way to sing rossini (or anything, really), and accept Art for what it is! Let yourself go to the music, do not try to MAKE the music come to YOU!
She is magnificent, and it is a delight after many years to hear an American voice that is worthy of the opera house and the recital hall. That she is a tremendous success is evident, and her attraction of pathetic detractors on youtube is further testimony to her artistry and her professionalism. May she be blest with continuing joy in performing as she has given us so much joy by the performance of her art.
@walsinghamhouse Listen, man :) one may like or not Geneaux - I dislike, you like and that's all - nothing to say :) it's your opinion! But saying she can sing ... This is really pure fantasy! Rember: in 50 years, nobody will remember Genaux, because she has nothing to say about singing and technique, and this is why Maria Callas and Joan Sutherland will be rememberd FOREVER!
@MisterPapageno What is with you Callas and Sutherland defenders. They are what they are and Genaux is what she is. They lived and sang in different times. Callas in particular made great contributions and changed opera. I prefer Genaux, and some others NOW. I happen to be a Dessay fan and have observed what the tiniest hint that callas and Sutherland were not perfect (Charley Rose interview) a large team of trolls arrived and filled the internet with misquotes and insults.
@MisterPapageno What you think you have shown with your comments so far: That you have a lot of knowledge, that you have brilliant taste, that you are really experienced. What you have REALLY shown: That you are narrow-minded, that you annoying and you act like a know-it-all, and that you dont really get opera. Technique is important, yes! But it's not everything...how about her precision? Her inhuman speed? Her agility? Her clarity that can be heard when in slow motion?
@MisterPapageno It must really bring the taste of stomach acid in your mouth to watch Vivica go on from success to success. Go back in your hole and fester some more. Maybe she will get hit by a meteor and you will finally feel vindicated.
@MrHbc3 I do not care about her life, cause I don't know her ad a human being but as an unskilled singer who is singing everything she can with no taste and no technical or musical skill. But believe me, I do not care at all: she is nothing to the history of music and vocality; tim will do its course without her in any case!
@MisterPapageno You are nothing but a YT troll who is on a mission to try to do damage to the reputation of Vivica and persuade others to not like her singing. You persist, persist and persist and then are stupid enough to say you care nothing about her life. I was not referring to her success in life, but to her extremely successful career. You,. for some reason (perhaps mental health), post and post and post the most negative crap (not opinions, CRAP) about her singing.
@walsinghamhouse You said it is a delight after many years to hear an American voice that is worthy of the opera house ..... " Don't forget Isabel Leonard, a New York mezzo who has, among other things, done a real good job as Sextus in Emmanuelle Haim's Paris production of Cleopatra. That production was a hoot, BTW, and I love it.
@SkateNater Ok, you know it all! Sorry if I prefer Marylin Horne as Isabella, a true mezzosoprano, and I am sorry I can't estimate properly Miss Genaux's "schiacciato" low register, her faults in emission which sounds sometimes airy, sometimes ingolata, her staccato coloratura that sounds gagagaga, her dynamics which sound more a baroque piece than a Rossini opera ... I am very sorry I can't understand Miss Genaux artistry! You could probably explain it to me: I am really looking forward to!

@SkateNater I'm not a troll. I'm just a musically educated person and I dislike all the cheaters like Bartoli, Genaux, Prina, Jaroussky & co

@SkateNater I do, much more instructive than this technically useless Genaux

@MrHbc3 I have made musical critics on Genaux's rendition of this piece: read them! She is a total fake!
