  • A very beautiful ceremony indeed!

  • that was very beautiful I loved Japanese culture and ritals. The bride was so beautiful. I wish them both lots of happiness.

  • ★Very beautiful bride and Very beautiful Kimono.

    It's so lovely.

    Nice video.

  • how did you two meet?

  • @tawaillesims: it's a long story ;)

  • Oh. My. GOD! I'm going to get married RIGHT NOW to a Japanese guy, of course in Japan. For sure. I hope the couple is living happily together :)

One more thing; I like long hair on guys, but the man in the video, in that outfit, it's STUNNING. Really pretty hair!

  • Omg...Love, peace, and blessings to that man and his wife! I LOVE the Japanese culture. Thank you for giving me the chance to see an actual Japanese wedding. I'm wondering if the religion is based on Shintoism. If not, clarify for me! :D

  • I think that's the longest hair I've ever seen on a guy....

  • @Nihonluv

Same here, I always dream of having my own Japanese wife too. May our dream come true... ;)

And oh yes, congratulate to these happy married couple, I wish you both great life ahead of you.

    :D

  • Still married? I watched this back in 2008-2009 and I'm ever curious. Such a great couple :)

  • @LMFAOASAP: Thanks for asking. Yep, still married. And we have a child, too.

  • THAT'S A NICE WEDDING

  • Nice, hope that will be me someday. the groom that is.

  • awsome!!!

  • You look so nice KAWAI

i wish you all the best in life

    Best wish from

    Nikola

    in

    Serbia

  • You look like a samurai with that hair. It's awesome! :)

  • 今の日本人は教会で式をあげるのが殆どだけど、日本式の結婚式もいいね。

    京都とかで式をあげたい。

  • Enjoyed this very much. While I was in Japan in 2008, visited several temples and Shinto shrines and saw a couple of wedding parties. Managed to get some photos too! I have a sister-in-law who is married to a gentleman from Japan—they had two weddings, one in the US and one in Japan, for his family. It was a full traditional Shinto wedding. I've seen the wedding photos. She looks very beautiful, but in some photos you can see she is rather uncomfortable in all kimono, wig etc.

  • Very beautiful and interesting!!!!

LOL!! like, while i was watching this vid i was like, giggling and smiling.. hahaha, anyways this is cool, its really cool!! and yea my bf is teaching me japanese! lol! yay!! i know japanese language pretty much, yea! JAPAN ROCKS! WOOHOO! oh yea the dress was BUEATIFUL!!

  • @Aderpay I HOPE YOUR DREAM TO COME TRUE ;D

  • XD sorry but with the long hair and the outfit you are wearing, you remind me of the character in samurai champloo that wears glasses and has long hair. LOL. if it wasn't for that outfit being a traditional outfit for the wedding I would say use it as a cosplay.. cause you would be one of the top ones.

  • So beautiful! It feels like I was actually there.

  • the groom s hair cut is epic

  • You speaking very good Nihongo.

  • Such a beautiful ceremony! Congratulations to you both. :)

  • Ohh.. i wanna marry a japanese guy!! <3 hOntO!!! ^^

  • OMG! That dress the bride is wering is beautiful!

  • Congrats you guys. May God bless your wedding. I am really sorry sometimes that our best clothes became traditions.

  • Awesome. Western style weddings in Japan are so awkward and feel fake. Don't know why they they like them. Shinto ones look so much more natural. And it's a wonderful tradition!

  • Amazing video!! My wife and I married at Kamigamo on the 24th of December 2009, such a beautiful shrine. Wish we'd had it filmed too now!

  • long hair? Reminds me of a samurai lol.... Beautiful wedding! :D

  • I could only dream of having a traditional japanese wedding, especially in an authentic japanese shinto shrine! Best wishes to this couple o(^.^)O

  • And who teach you what to do at a weading ? ^^

  • Shill married happily here ;) . Thanks!

  • @rowmuse

Is this an actual PRESENT day Japanese wedding? Or is it suppose to be traditional? Just curious...

  • Alguien traduzca los votos del novio!!!!!!

  • the black kimono at 5:43 reminds of Akatsuki,s cloak:)

  • Nice hair...a caucasian samurai!

  • @occeo Sure IS!

  • @occeo You mean a 'Hakujin' Samurai. lol

  • Survey results have found 60% of Japanese women seek a husband with an annual income of over $70,000 (in fact 20% look for twice this much), but statistics show that the average income for men in Japan is only $44,000.

The results once again suggested the reason for collapsing marriage rates in Japan may be overwhelmingly tied to the unrealistic income expectations of several generations of women who apparently consider little else in their choice of partner.

  • I'm surprised anime didn't have this kind of wedding.

  • I love Japan. Such a rich culture. Another reason why I plan on living there.

  • @jakemonrean Me too. Where do you want to live? For me, it's Tokyo :)

  • Beautiful, absolutely stunning

  • Don't exactly enjoy the music at the random intervals in the wedding. Kinda hurts my ears.

  • His hair is AMAZING! And the bride looks beautiful too! Congratulations!

  • o! Saumurai!

  • I'm not particularly fond of sake-At leas the one I tasted was similiar to rubbing alcohol and that was terrible! DX But if there are better tasting or sweeter sake or even if we could put a different drink then I think it would be okay to continue with the wedding if it were me getting married. But if not, then I guess I better get used to drinking rubbing--err, sake! ^_^ Lol. I would so love to get married in Japan. I'm going to work hard in becoming an English teacher and live/teach there! XD

  • Very nice.

  • lol i like u hair lol

  • I wonder how the brides walk, but there clothing for the wedding is just breath taking (in a good way of course) and When I move to japan when Im older I will have a traditional Marriage ceremony!!

  • very cool thanks for sharing. I loved the colorful outfits (not sure if there kimonos) but yes i loved it ;P

  • look at his HAIR .. OH MY GOD !!!!!!!

Its SOOO WONDERFUL I wish i have like that hair ..

the wedding is very good .. thanks ..

  • This wedding looks very nice

You look very cool, very samuari like.

  • Looks so cool.

  • Nice documentary.

Being a bride in kimono still is a dream of many Japanese girl's dream.

The guy's ponytail resembles a samurai hairdo and gives it more traditional look.

It' a sign of the time, the foreigners have more chance to experience the real Japanese culture.

  • this helps so much it gives me an idea of how a traditional japanese wedding is supposed to be.

  • I have a question. Are the wedding clothes that a man wears still called a kimono or a Jinbei? I've been researching it, but everything conflicts itself. This was such a pretty wedding. Everything seemed really peaceful, and I love all of there kimono's. They are so pretty. thanks for sharing.

  • sabriel18:

The bottom he's wearing is called "Hakama", long coat he's wearing is called, "Haori", under those, he's wearing kimono.

Jinbei is not a traditional formal kimono and

comes in 2 pieces and worn directly over underwear.

  • i would love to wear one!!!!looks elegant

  • ty i like this wedding. it was nice and a bit more peaceful looking then a american wedding. i hope they are still together

  • Oh my gosh, that was beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing that with all of us. You're a very lucky man!

  • Oh this is marvelous! She was absolutely gorgeous and you really look handsome in that outfit! Japanese weddings have always fascinated me as far as traditions.

  • Can anyone explain the symbolism of the item the priest is using to purify the couple? I'm referring to the stick with the white stripes on it. I've also seen shinto priests using a branch with a white ribbon tied.

Thanks in advance and.. my best wishes to the couple, even though this was filmed two years ago, heh.

  • it is haraigushi,

the priest is removing negative spirits from the ceremony. sweeping them away.

  • What a beautiful uchikake!!

  • he looks a lot like kenshin from samurai x(except for the glasses part).Cool.

  • jin from samurai champloo

  • @chantell45 LOL! Sho is

  • The priests play cool instruments. I like the sound of the gong.

  • intersting swiss man with japanese girl. thats cool i like his hair :]

  • how is lif in japan? and is it hard to live there? im going there this summer with a friend of mine, but i was wondering if its easy to find work there?

  • depends on what kind of work? Is English your native language? If so, you can always teach.

IT has a decent job market as well.

  • I'm so enviouuuus~~~! I can't wait to find my Nihonjin Oujisama! ^-^ Hopefully I can have a Shinto wedding! You looked really cool with your long hair, by the way! :)

    ご結婚おめでとうございます!!!

  • wow, that's some incredible hair on you! o_o why was Matsuda-san's kimono so bulky? or was that just a haori over the regular outfit?

  • The hair is gone now...hehe. My wife was wearing a traditional wedding "uchikake" coat over her kimono and obi, that's why it looks bulky.

  • @rowmuse I'm a supporter of long hair, Roger-dono, I think you should have kept it LOL. You and your bride were absolutely stunning in your kimonos. Life-long blessings upon you both, if I had a thousand pieces of paper with me (and some origami lessons under my belt) I'd make a thousand paper cranes for the both of you.

  • were the bride and groom both Japanese or was it only the bride?

  • Thanks for watching. The groom is actually Swiss. But I have been living in Japan for 12 years.

  • cool! hopefully after i finally graduate from college i can go and visit Japan for a few weeks. i really wanna go, especially now that i am taking a japanese class. i love the culture there and i want to experience it

  • @rowmuse No wonder you speak good Nihongo! lol

  • That's such an awsome wedding. Very beautiful and graceful :)

  • Beautiful wedding, beautiful Bride, beautiful Komonos.

  • I was jealous the bride :) İt was realy good kimono.I would like to know Japanese and to marry with a Japanese guy... =)

  • oh lord im getting the jitters...i might be going down that road soon but im not sure if i can do traditional...its sooo expensive
