  • It is very good and a great idea. I believe the Drasnian's intended it to be far more... subtle, though. The gestures use much more than "wiggling fingers", as they so fondly put it. They do talk about nimble fingers. I think it has a lot to do with how the fingers are moved than in the positions they are placed in.

Maybe you should phone Silk and ask him for some instructions XD

    Hope this helps~

  • You are aware of the Sign language deaf and mute people use to communicate, right? I was getting a bit confused when you said that no one has "done it before". I mean, the sign language is pretty much exactly like what the drasnian sexret language would be like.

  • Nerd

  • @bobbisawesome2 thanks.

  • I must be on that weird side of youtube again

  • @Hardcoregamer728 I believe you are.

  • I must be on that weird side of youtube again

  • The fuck did I just watch.

  • wtf is a drasnian

  • @KyleBJobey a fictional people created by fantasy writer David Eddings, in which 99.9 % of the people are spies.

  • @karsten69 ah - Lacks a bit of sublety then :)

  • Drasian Secret Language..

Implies an element of secrecy and subtlety.

    Good try anyway

  • PART 1

Hey, I like what you're doing here, but I get the impression that your intending to come up with an entire language, word by word... There are a lot of words, and that means a whole lot of hand signs, so would it not be better, or easier to (instead of words) create signs for the letters? There are 26 characters (52 if you count capitals) in the standard alphabet (depending on where you're from).

  • @teagm003

    PART 2

And just by a rough count I can think of somewhere between 80 - 120 combinations of gestures you can make just with your fingers, no wrist movements (this counts both hands, so the language would take two hands). So would it not be easier to simply create 26 gestures, plus punctuation and numbers, and spell out what you're trying to say? It would take longer, but be easier to learn and to read. Just a suggestion :)

  • @teagm003 that's a good point. I can't do this on my own, however since the language didn't originate from a single person, so it's open to make and post your own.

  • I like your dedication but I feel your signs are a little too large to fit the title of the Drasnian secret language. It was to my understanding that the secret language was only composed of small finger gestures where your signs incorporate both hands entirely. I don't mean to be offensive. i'm just attempting to offer some constructive criticism.

  • @patgardjohn1 I'm glad for your criticism. however, if we were to only do so few movements, the language would be too simple and you couldn't make much of it, as you do in the books. therefore I decided to use the entire wrist area. of course I'm only still training too. but thanks for a proper criticism.

  • lol i made my own up mine sort of like sign language

  • This is one of my favorite series of all time, so I do understand your enthusiasm. But seriously.... get out of your house and enjoy some other aspects of your own life. You have to much time on your hands to try and devise your own personal "Drasnian secret language". I applaud your dedication, but maybe you can focus it more productively, which could actually lead to a girlfriend or some sort of a social life outside of your room. Good luck.

  • @cazman35 why thank you for being a jerk. the social life of my age range is none I wish to partake in. getting dead drunk, taking drugs, being irresponsible, being jerks and immature. once in about 10 years when my age group has matured I might seek the outside. also have you noticed how little time there is spent on it? I will think of ideas when I'm out and around other people. and only make a video when I have nothing else to do. I hope you understand that you are a jerk. have a good day.

  • @cazman35 There is nothing more productive than being creative; indeed, "to create" is almost as to say "to produce." You, good fellow, are obviously thinking with your penis. "To produce," you say, "offspring." @karsten69, I support your creativity. Awesome.

  • @TomOrro47 thank you.

  • hey, I've just finished the last book of the belgariad and was looking to try and find this language. You're probably the closest to it that I've seen. I'd also like to help if I could, I've had some experience with what goes into making a language, but not much with sign language.

    perhaps we can collaborate sometime?

  • @piperevans I would love that. I don't know the sign language at all, so I'm making signs up as I go. but it would be good to have someone experienced with language grammar on board. wouldn't do to forget a word like "have" or "be"

  • Thanks alot! I appreciate this video...I'm going to have to learn this now ^_^

  • I applaud your effort in this, but I think your missing some of the important defining characteristics of the secret language, the hand movements and gestures are supposed to be subtle, quick and mostly contained to the chest or waist level to obscure the view from behind and to the sides.

  • @Givvy everyone needs to learn the gestures first, of course you are going to use them in secret. you learn words before you can form a sentence. in the same way I'm applying each word first and then making a sentence, doing them subtle and fast at the waist level... well my webcam doesn't allow me to show it at waist level or you won't be able to see my head :P

  • Hey! I approve. :P You need to do some more :) :) xx

  • @Loveableabusive well it's tough work :P I have to invent it all from scratch and as it is right now I'm alone at it.
