  • The second unit does look like an E8 but the roof details are wrong for one. Sounds awesome-2-stroke emd diesels are unmistakeable!

  • nice vid but the talking is a really terrible idea mate, leave that to Steve Irwin?

  • @dm3830 Steve Irwin would have jumped on the bloody thing lol

  • @johnnyfarnham hehe, that is probably true.

    are you the voice!! hehe

  • @steviebboy69 I am the voice, just no one wants to listen

  • Beautiful!! Why couldn't EMD build double-ended E-units here in America? The only double-ended cab units we ever had here in the states were a half-dozen Baldwin "Baby-Face" double-enders for the Central RR of New Jersey. Also is this line you're filming been standard-gauged or is it still wide-gauge? Thanks.

  • Thats a damn fine locomotive.

  • Nice shot of this vintage Aussie EMD! I like how it looks like a double-ended E unit! And those passenger cars look quite like an American streamliner as well.

  • This is absolutely classic Victorian Railways. Thanks heaps.

  • Nice work but you need a tripod mate !

  • Typical foamer...No Idea whatsoever....

'I think the sun's gonna be in the lense'....well DER!

  • Nice footage Stevieboy69!

  • yes for sure, it was .

  • Vice video. The paint on those is very much like that of the Erie in the USA. The locomotives could be mistaken for GM E8s. Wonder if GM had any involvement in the colours.

  • thanks for the comment. glad you enjoyed it.

maybe they did have some involvment in the colours?

  • Yep, the Victorian Railways colour scheme for its carbody units was based on the Erie colour scheme, although the colours were slightly differerent, the Aussie blue being lighter than its US equivalent.

  • Rule No;1,Never talk in your Vids,

  • I agree,,,but if you do talk,,,Just don't answer your self,,,,Thats what I have always been told !,,,Cheers Mate.

  • As a lover of all things "train" I can say, "sweet video!"

As a college student who is planning on becoming a linguist, I'll say, "sweet accent!"

  • hi, well thanks for that.

oh so you thought the accent was sweet.

one person said the talking was like annoying.

i guess i had a few drinks and was talking there too.

  • Better without any talking!

  • yes i guess so, but that was the way it was.

  • Great video, love the B & S classes revving hard. They sound awesome.

  • Nice vid mate!

    Cheers

  • i have another one as it was pulling into the wangaratta station, that was on its way back.

i did do an vintage look one that looked great on screen but had to compress it so doesnt look so good on youtube.

but it looked antique did you look.

  • it i think only runs on special occasions.

they have a normal passenger service, for local and interstate.

look on Wikipedia and search there i dont think you can post links on this.

or google search spirit of progress and you will find it.

as i mentioned i will upload the vintage version i did soon.

it looks like an old film from the 20's or earlier

  • Nice job of restoration does it run regular passenger service now? Good video.
