yo yh i am on 10.7 but i cannot access the software as when i downloaded it and opened it it does not open that black window and when i try to play it manually the play button is ristricted
@Nintendo46 Thats odd, if you are able to use EasyCapViewer, your EasyCap has to be able to do 60 hertz, I'll look into it and tell you as soon as I find an answer. If you could video your problem, that would be helpful.
I have tried using the easycap itself and the easycap with a phono/jack adapter and still have no sound. I don't have a 'use audio port for' drop down menu to choose audio in from. It's just not there. I am attempting to transfer Hi8 camcorder footage from the camera to the computer, not Xbox footage. Might this be the issue?
Your video instruction for using the converter was a great find! We couldn't figure out why we weren't getting audio on our iMac until I viewed the first few seconds of your video! The converter did the trick! Thank you! Now we're off to figure out how to get all our old VHS to iMovie!!
@XcodeDev It might be because you didn't check the box (at 10:08 of the video) that turns recording to RAM on. It will then make the video very smooth. I recommend you have at least 4GB of RAM if you are going to use this option.
If this didn't help, just message back and i'll try again :D
@NATB100 Thanks man! This worked! But I still have a small problem. Since I can only record about 2 minutes in the highest setting, when I hit stop recording, it gives me the "beach ball" and it takes awhile to stop and save. Then I have to hit start and this also takes a good 30 seconds. Why is this? is there any other FREE software that is better for EasyCAP? Thanks!
@XcodeDev Sorry, there is no other software for EasyCap. Just record on medium settings, that should record for longer (4 minutes minimum, 8 minutes maximum) and it should take less time to process. If this doesn't work, just message me again and i'll try another solution. Hope this helps!
(The other option is the HD PVR... If you have enough money :P)
@NATB100 Ive found a simple solution. Plug it into the microphone port right next to the headphone port. Then for input click on line in and turn the gain level all the way up. It works for me
On mine, when i click configure audio, it only has the built in microphone available, i have a phono to jack thing, but its more like a wire, is that the problem? woops sorry commented too soon XD
3) Make sure the "Use audio port for" is set to "Sound input"
This should convert your audio jack from out to in. If you have followed these steps and it still isn't working; try to make a video showing what you use and/or what you are doing on on your computer. This could help me. If, for whatever reason you cant video it, simply send me a link to a picture of your "Phono to jack"

@TeamDarkCrystalI I play through my TV too, I would have explained it, but I was running out of time as youtube only gives you 15 mins unless you are a partner. The way I do it is: I use a component/composite cable. I connect the component cable into my TV, then I connect my composite to my easycap. You can order one from amazon, just go to amazon, then type in: xbox component/composite.
If you want, I will make a video for you showing you exactly how I do it.
@NATB100 Its cool...I'll wait lol..but if you can find a way to record from your Mac...please do that...I'll manage to find out what your talking about.
@LightSoul13 The "sound thing" is called a "Phono to mini jack". If you own a macbook (or macbook pro), plug it into the place where you connect the speakers. If you want to buy one, I have found one on ebay for you (add the dots in):
I dont have the use audio port thingy so what do I do?
