its funny how people around my age (im 22) are like wow in my day kids didnt go on the net or play video games they went outside!! lol. Umm video games and net was around back then....and kids still play outside today too you know....the 90s arnt that different from today just better computers cell phones and different shows on TV and different music on the radio. Kids from today arnt that different from 90s kids either...lol but i do admit 90s Nick IS way better then todays.:)
@girlstorm09 I'm 22 as well, and I've NEVER heard people our age say those things. In fact, I mostly hear people our age talk about the N64 games they used to play and the TV shows they used to watch when talking about their childhood.
Why did you tape all of these commercial breaks? Are you psychic and did you realize that people 10-15 years later would invent a site called "YouTube" and you could finally have a use for all of these VHS tapes and get tons of press from, as Spongebob said, "thousands of people you don't know"?
Like Stevie Wonder said, I wish these days could come back once more- why did these days ever have to go?
I totally remember the Keenan and Kel Black History break thing, even that stupid little jingle. And the BK commercial. It was a good time to be seven.
I must have a fantastic memory because I was like, 3 at the time this aired and I remember seeing this stuff like it was yesterday. It may also have something to do with the fact that Nickelodeon pretty much raised me lol.
I miss the days where I use to just sit on the couch all day and zone out to this stuff. Now I can hardly last thirty minutes watching TV. TV needs to get back to the golden days, enough of this reality show bullshit.
i loved growing up as a kid in the 90s!!! it was awesome! i would just like to point out that for any fans of the tv series The O.C. and anyone who was a Marisa Cooper fan, Mischa Barton is at the end of the pop tart commercial except she looks younger. i was like wow that's really her when she was younger. (:
wow, cartoon channels don't even acknowledge Black History Month or any history for that matter. I recall not to long ago Martin Luther King Day had a marathon of cartoons and had no word or even remembrance of what the day was for.
I remeber Nick News! They don't even have that anymore unless it's for very special occasions. I liked when they aired it regularly. Kids now a days probably saw it and and think, "Wha?? I never heard of this show before!"
Nick was more adultish when I was a kid. Yeah Linda Ellabee talked about the Death Penalty, but children now arent concerned about nothing serious in the world today. The generation below us who are below ages 20 and 30 are going to ruin the world with there Spongbob Dora lame lifes a joke attitude. D:
@redneon06 Im 25 and dont think that Im going to ruin the world. I take life seriously. But yes, there are a lot of people who just don't take life as seriously as people once did.
@redneon06 you know what the television shows that kids watch today sucks, I mean like Hannah-youcansuckmybrother'sballs-Montana and isoHate iCarly. Hey Youtube is the place you can bring back memos and all the place in the past.
i always hated wild berry poptarts. lol cabbage patch kids were the junk (not what i wanted to say. lol). NICK NEWS!!! I USED TO BE SUCH A FAN! And they would never be able to show that now...
the golden years of my childhood, playing school, having fun, enjoying real television and shows that didn't come from washed up actors and actresses! I can say the 1990s was the last decade which a kid could be a kid! Now kids are acting like there 25 when they are only 10 and parents don't act like parents! I'm only 24 years and it seems my kids will never have it as good as i have, what a utter shame!
@Cunard51 yeah i know what you mean. i'm 20 and i'm so glad we grew up right before the internet and cell phone craze. We didn't have to worry about texting lol gettin online. U were either watchin some great TV or playin outside. Now kids are always playing video games and u rarely see anyone outside anymore
@Cunard51 Sooo true! Little kids just flaunt around like they're 25! And you don't see that kind of thing in television today, where kdis were encouraged to have a childhood. Now it's just hormonal preteen-teen junk now on Nickalodeon. I'm 24 too & I think all generations after us, who didn't get to grow up during the 90's will never experience a true childhood. I don't like everything about the 90's but what happened after it?
I'm surprised this comment page hasn't turned into a high-stakes battleground over the ethics of the death penalty, seeing what often happens on YouTube comment pages.
I used to watch You're on Nickelodeon Charlie Brown all the time! That was when I was willing to wake up at 6 am just to watch cartoons. I still can't believe I woke up so early!
And I wonder if they still celebrated Black History Month when Obama was elected. Either way, Kenan and Kel were great! I'm laughing right now! They're that good! And either way, even if they did celebrate it, it probably wouldn't be nearly as good.
Well, I wouldn't be surprised if a few years from now, the kids who are at that age (6 to 9 years old) growing up on stuff on the cartoons we consider to be sub par will be up here lamenting the plight of good cartoons. Well, some good news for animation is the Up was nominated for BEST PICTURE!!! (I heard that this hasn't happened since Beauty and the Beast.) And there are many other great candidates.
Those kraft macaroni commercials were out in the 90's? I didn't know that. I didn't think the dinosaur started getting sprayed with cheese until the 00's.
Nah; 1998 is nothing like the '80s; I see an Internet URL, rap culture was big; even the Cabbage Patch Kids is quite advanced in style from their '80s commercials. The biggest way to tell apart the '90s from '00s is the use of HDTV commercials IMO along with more advanced CGI; the '90s are the middle ground between '80s cheesy and '00s geekiness/techiness which makes this an appealing decade.
@RebelTaxi99 Let's shelter our children from everything that doesn't shit sunshine and rainbows. I'm glad I grew up when nickelodeon had the balls to talk about real issues.
@RebelTaxi99 I agree, when I was little, I chose not to watch Nick News because I came to nick to watch CARTOONS, like Rugrats and Rocko, not no freaking news.
