  • Very Good

  • Would Elvis been King of Rock if Buddy Holly never took that fateful flight?

  • @advocatefromGod no way buddy holly would of blown his socks off!

  • what's the second song?

  • waylon talked about this. king curtis on sax. beautiful.

  • Kick ass

  • This is great!!!

  • I t wasn't me that called it jibberish... it was some dumb ass.

  • Cajun French is a very specific dialect of French. A Cajun could make himself basically understood in Paris, but it might be difficult & would certainly confuse the locals, since he'll be using some phrases & grammar that haven't been heard in France since the late 18th century, and others that have never been heard there at all. At least that's what all my Cajun friends down here tell me. If you're ever in New Roads, LA, stop at Mougeot's for some head cheese & boudin ;)

  • Pronunciation is also quite a bit different in a lot of ways. In other words, while Cajun French (or Cadjin) isn't *technically* a language.... a Cajun speaking to a Parisian would sound like Boomhauer from "King of the Hill" sounds to us... assuming Boomhauer's accent was a little less thick, but every 5th word was different & his colloquial expressions were last heard in English during the Revolutionary War.

  • That you for posting this. I don't believe I had ever heard it.! (lol, it was some bad Cajun though)

  • Jolie blonde, regardez donc quoi t'as fait,

Tu m'as quitte pour t'en aller,

Pour T'en aller avec un autre, oui, que moi,

Quel espoir et quel avenir, mais, moi, je vais avoir?

Jolie blonde, tu m'as laisse, moi tout seul,

Pour t'en aller chez ta famille.

Si t'aurais pas ecoute tos les conseils de les autres

tu serait ici-t-avec moi aujourd 'hui

  • @MrAmerican40 That doesn't sound like "gibberish" to me ;)

  • " if I were is aspen I wouldn't listen to me!" hahahaha

  • Those are not the words from Jolie Blond sung in 1946! I think Waylon has made up his own words. (: ~OneKewpie~

  • @OneKewpie lol sure has, jolie blon jolie tit is about the only true cajun french I hear..

  • @OneKewpie lmao yeah he's not speaking french, hes just making sounds.

  • @Zaku009

You never benn in a Cajun hatu with a mamu... it isnt French ahole... its Cajun slang dumbah !

  • @MrAmerican40 whoa whoa, don't get your panties in a knot dude. I know there's Cajun slang involved with the song. Cajun is a form of french btw. Anyway Waylon said some of it. some of the stuff he is saying is just french sounding gibberish, though.

  • @Zaku009 Only panties are on your ass DUDE... maybe if you knew more about Cajun, Waylon and slang you wouldn't be makin an ass of yourself... reckon?

  • @Zaku009

BTW... its creole not cajun if you are trying to articulate the language

  • @MrAmerican40 Dude, creole and cajun are two completely different things.

  • @OneKewpie Its Blon not blond.... it isn't French and wasn't intgended to be. You arent as stupi9d as Zaku are you?

  • @MrAmerican40 ignore this guy. He knows nothing of our culture. The original song is in Cajun French, Waylon doesn't know a lick of french so he's just making up words and saying what he remembers. Creole and Cajun cultures are two different things completely.

  • @Zaku009

Moron.... Cajun -is a Louisiana resident that interbred with French descendants Creole- The language spoken by cross-descendants of the Louisana and French

Cajun isn't a language just like American isn't a language.

You are typical of internet know it alls... that don't know their ass from a hole in the ground!

  • @MrAmerican40 Cajuns are descended from the Acadian people that were thrown out of Canada after the French and Indian war. It's pretty common knowledge. It even inspired the epic "Evangeline." Read a fucking history book. Cajun isn't a language. Cajun French is. Creoles are descendants of the original french settlers before the Cajun people arrived. They also have their own dialect of french called Creole. I don't know why you're so hostile about something you clearly know nothing about. Bitch.

  • @Zaku009 You are actually as stupid as you appear..... I see you looked up some history after i gave you the truth... But you still got it wrong.... Cajun French isn't a language.... you need to quit makining an ass of yourself BITCH !

  • @MrAmerican40 lol cajun french is a fucking language, google it you dumb shit. I find it hilarious you're pretending to enlighten me. You can't even spell check your own shit. You are the definition of an internet know it all.

  • @Zaku009

You need to quit sukin your daddy's cock... it is causing you to lose your mind, what little you have !

  • @MrAmerican40 U just mad cuz I'm stylin' on you.

  • DAMN..!

  • wow thatk you for the post!! Waylon is amazing!!!

  • G r e a t .... history .... love it ...... WBA

  • DID you no waylon was in buddy holly band RJK

  • is this sax player the same man who played festus on gunsmoke?, i heard he played fiddle and banjo? just lost in time i guess....

  • @rockin1953 lookup wikipedia king curtis, great old tune

  • Mmmmm....interesting and one gotta love King Curtis sax. So immediately

    recognized, so kool.

  • Love it! One of my fave songs!!

  • Thanks for this - this kind of posting makes me love youtube!

  • @justmusicandme Thank you for sharing this interesting music with me.

    ---------Ellen

  • @justmusicandme - Me, too! Thanks, my friend! Very cool! What a loss for us and music when Buddy perished.

  • elconejo9, a kazillion thanks for these BH-related rarities!

  • Holly as a sideman on his own recording... delicious.

Waylon sounding as though his voice has just changed... really delicious.

  • Ay-eeee! Go Waylon!

  • ... and, of course. it was Waylon Jennings who gave up his seat on the plane to Buddy Holly...

  • @hrpman it was the big bopper that Waylon gave up his seat too, i heard Waylon tell the story how JP told Waylon that he wished his old bus would break down and Waylon told him he wish his old airplane would crash.... Waylon said he couldnt sleep for weeks after that plane did crash

  • @rockin1953 I stand corrected - not only that, but now you mention it, I remember hearing Waylon telling the same story!

  • @hrpman and the story goes that waylon didnt want to give up his seat to the bopper so they fliped a coin, and you know what happened then....

  • Why did you had to die so young and so early, Buddy ? ... What a shame...

  • Now THAT is a classic!

  • Wow.... That's great...

  • Thanks for posting!!! looking for it a long time.

  • that does not sound like ralph ememy introducing this song

  • Is that Ralph Emery introdicing the song?

  • @Bopalena No, Texas DJ, Jimmie Rabbit. He's the one David Allen Coe mentions in his song Longhaired Redneck. Ralph did the midnight show for WSM AM for many years.

  • @rockinredneck57 "Correction needed" It was David Allen Coe & Jimmy Rabbit that wrote the song "Long Haired Rednecks" Together for DAC new album... Jimmy Rabbits real name is Eddy Payne and he took the name Jimmy Rabbit in Dallas in or around 1964. source a old friend. so it is pretty close on the time lines. the rest are fact's

  • Buddy Holly is the number one.

  • @ximobrotons The Crowned Prince Of Rock 'N' Roll. He was great.

  • Haha, his pronunciation is horrible, but at least someone as famous as Waylon Jennings is trying to give us homage.

  • @dykwimtmno504 lol yeah, i think i read somewhere that waylon said King Curtis and Buddy thought his French pronunciation was pretty funny. Around 1:38 it sounds like his tongue's slipping or something :P

  • Imagine the blues players feelings when their music became rock and roll,....and there is nary a Scotsman alive who hasn't been peeved at anything other than bagpipes playing Amazing Grace! I own lots of versions of Jole Blon, and love 'em all!

  • I have never heard this version before,....always amazed at what I seem to be finding on youtube! I see some "posts of concern". Fear not,....when music is "covered" and interpreted differently by other artists, it may tend to make people seek out the "roots" and create another fan!

  • If any cajuns are offended by this, they ought to hear the Moon Mullican version which is also pretty outtasight. It was the second most popular version in 1947.

  • Buddy Holly cantando en francés. jajaj. great song.

  • mangled lyrics and all, that fast waltz sax arrangement is great!

  • Why are prople always so ashamed of performances they have made in the past?

Do they not realise, this is what got them to where they are now?

All of a sudden they develop very bad memories.

They should be ashamed of themselves!

  • What are you referring to?

  • my sis is named jolie

  • too bad for pure Cajuns.I do not think waylon or buddy meant you any harm. I requested this song out loud at a concert and Waylon did the first verse and said that was all he could remember. A memory for me forever.

  • thats some good shit there.

  • one of my favorites, never heard it by them but of course it has to be good!!

  • anything with buddy and king curtis is automaticly good

  • @mezansky and Waylon!

  • king curtis on saxophone on this one. Recorded at the same time than Reminiscing.

  • they buthchered it. jolie blon doesnt sound good without a fiddle or accordian and those arent even the words

  • there are a lot of different versions done by a lot of different people though - this one isnt bad really

  • well as a cajun i think its stupid how some country and folk singers feel like they are doing a favor to cajuns by remaking our beautiful traditional music in their style, in what they think is cajun french, even though evrything is mispronounced or corrupted and anglicized. i dont mind if they make music thats based on cajun music. just dont call it cajun music or "a tribute to cajun music" because its killing traditional cajun music

  • I never really listened to the words before,,,,yup, that's gibberish haha!!!

  • I LOVE this version of Jolie Blon! Thanks so much for posting it!

  • the briliance of buddy

  • fuckin brilliant....

  • Thanks for posting it.

  • This marks only the 2nd time ive ever heard this (the last time was about 20 years ago on a Buddy Holly memorial show)....been looking for it since, thx :)

  • Check out ITUNES, its available along with WHEN SIN STOPS on a two track album with Buddy Holly & Waylon Jennings for the sum of £1.58. Waylon heard the song and wanted to use it for his first recording but neither him nor Buddy could understand the Cajun language so they just wrote down what they THOUGHT was being sung and recorded that. They got it completely wrong so their version doesn't actually make any sense, it's pure MARTIAN! I love it none the less though-after all it's BUDDY! :-)

  • this one was published on an english box set of buddy in 1977

  • This is a true gem. Thanks for posting it.
