Hey Sam, It's Derek Bever. I stumbled across this and thought I'd offer my comments.
First and foremost, you're doing pretty good with the guitar. Are you using a chord book or anything? I'd suggest it.
Secondly, considering varying your strumming, to maintain interest. Especially for a 7 minute magnum opus, yeah?
Overall this is a pretty solid foundation for a first song. I can't even play and sing at the same time. Keep it up man! Music is about persistence as much as it is about art.
Hey Derek I remember you. How've you been? Oh and Yeah. I'm most definitely using a chord book. That's how I learned the twelve chords I know how to play. And I'll keep that in mind man about varying my strumming but I'm still learning this is the first guitar composition I've written man. I didn't even think it was gonna be 7 minutes but a lot of my favorite Psychedelic Artist from the 60's did like 7 minute jams or longer.
Yeah I sure will man. Oh and ya I'll work on that man. Also I've got another new original written with another set of original guitar chords too and the other new song is actually called "Get Your Music Shit Together" oh and btw I'll post after I've purchased my first electric guitar tomorrow. only bit of criticism is to try and do the chord changes more smoother
