I have a sector 9 Joel tudor long board and im trying to power slide and do 180s how should i start off since i never did this stuff before and I boat my board as is stock sector 9 stuff ??

@any4003 To learn to slide, I recommend finding a large hill to carve down, and I mean carve hard. Soon your back wheels will start to lose traction, and you will hear them slide a little. Once you are comfortable with that, go a little faster, do a small toeside carve, do a heelside carve really hard and kick out with your back foot. Your back wheels should slide, making you do a speed check, and you might have your ass on the ground from falling, but once you do that, learn to control it.

If your concave flattens out or something ridiculous like that, then it will be harder to control slides but as long as it isnt as warped and twisted as much as having like one wheel lifted off the ground you should be fine. also, extra little tips, you may want to loosen your trucks up so you can turn harder, just not so much that you arent comfortable at speeds. maybe you should get some harder wheels without square lips either

@Ninjafiedrummer hey saw you arguing with that faggot and thought id help you out. a good way to learn this slide is to start by doing a pivot off of your nose but slide the wheels on the ground, into a 180. do this until you're comfortable then move your front foot back a little bit. then keep moving it back until you have a symmetrical stance. Another thing to remember is to shift weight to your front foot when you start the slide and shift it to your other foot when you complete the 180. :)

@redheadphil man i have a loaded vangaurd as well and trust me it works i have 86a in heats and blue paris trucks all ya got to do is bend your knees carve the oppersite way then go to carve the other way but thats when you bend your knees twist sholders and twist legs then when about to come out keep knees bent and slowly rise just pracktise over and over. better of starting on a slanted ground to help you get speed and loose the tracktion easyr

I just kind of thought it was like one of the first things people changed when they started skating. I guess I really don't have a physics explanation but if you wanted to treat me like a "narrow minded pea brain", try pushing mongo on a snowboard,why else would you have your front binding for the lift
