Give it time guys, it's not that this music is unpopular, it's just ahead of the game, futuristic even...give it a generation, all genres will converge into the masterpiece that is......FLYING LOTUS
although i am not much intelligent with the UK music scene, flylo to me is an american classic. Following the likes of J Dilla; creating a musical sound that can progress our everyday life. Dudes from california, he may have international influences but the dudes soul is here in the u.s.a
you can here the UK influence on this one, the drums are quite garagey, the synths are too...but then combined with this american funk-jazz bass...you can really hear how good he is at mining for samples and using them in a non-obvious, highly music way...its like he explores the whole of american black music, in the same way that Burial goes deep into the underground of UK hardcore, jungle, and garage...Flylo is the only one approaching Burial in terms of talent and ability to capture a sound
@kingeric77 i gotta disagree with you on the point that i think Fly Lo surpasses Burial in his 'talent and ability to capture a sound'
I like Burial's music, but he doesn't really get too experimental with his stuff. Burial kind of reminds me of The Field. the music is good, but it's not that complex. which i can't say the same of for Flying Lotus.
great.. that future jazz man!

Reminding me a lot of Squarepusher. Especially Ultravisitor. Obviously still has the Unique edge and syncopation of Flying Lotus

The bass line could be a rip from Scarified...it definitely sounds in vain of Juan Alderate

why are so many of there songs on this album just nothing for like 2 minutes left?
sntOwnz13 1 year ago
@sntOwnz13 I'm not sure but it could be a method used to preserve sound quality.

@sntOwnz13 it could be so people actually buy the music, and dont pirate it.
