When PlayStation 1 came out, this game was included on a 'Classics' disc along with Defender (another really difficult arcade game) and some others. Sinistar brought back memories of losing quarters in record time. It made me upset as a little boy because quarters were scarce. Even having this game for free, I could next get past Level 2. Thanks for the review!
Dood i feel you.. i was 6 in a black light lit.. old school arcade.. i saw sinistar... and played ... the thing was the volume was on max... and when sinistar screamed in that black light enviorment i was scared shitless..
I have the GBA version, and enjoyed it, until I played it on the Midway Arcade Treasures compilation on the Xbox. I now see what an utter mess it really is.
Good job again Aaron... Totally forgot about this game and how you got your display picture... But shit you still cry when you play this game and you see sinistar... Before you didnt but now you do
Good job on a review, but you could throw Sensible Software's 'remake' of Sinistar built into MegaLoMania as a secret game. Also, why don't I see Sinistar in your GBA footage while the rest had them?
@SmogFish Yeah its called Sinistar: Unleashed, I will review it at a later time. I haven't played it, but I don't think it will be good as this classic.
Have you ever shot the last bomb and then get destroyed by one of the turret things? If the bomb hits, you'll see what I need.

Man, I was scared of Sinistar as a kid. Looking back, I miss that game. That and Defender for sure.

Still have this for the Genesis and it's indeed a good one.
Here I thought I would be the only one out there that was scared of Sinistar as a child.
