  • jens?

  • i had the opportunity to ask karri recently if he is going to play in the world championships, he said "I don't know yet, but I am going"

so im guessing he isn't going to be starting goalie! :(

  • Well, if Minnesota or Philadelphia drops out from the playoffs, Nikke Backström or Antero Niittymäki is going to be our starting goalie. Otherwise, I think it will be Karri.

  • by the way Karri is going to Play for finland in Canda, in this years World tournament

  • I wonder, will Karri be #1 goaltender for finland in the world championships. Of course if Nikke Bäckström or Miikka Kiprusoff get eliminated on the NHL playoffs' first round, they will be #1 goaltenders, no doubt about it. But let's hope that Finland will do well in championships :)

  • Rämö is an awesome goaltender, he should get some more starts.

  • I completely agree, he's got so much talent

  • Good to have another top goalie from Finland :) But thats pretty odd, that he wasn't very popular in Finland, when he played here. Now, he's in NHL and seems to be doing well :D

  • haha xD seiously

i never really watched any Finnish games, is it really different??

  • yes it is... the rink or the ice surface is bigger here in europe then in n-america

  • now that much i knew

i was born in Russia so i was introduced to that kind of stuff early on, but i was wondering Finland specifically??

like is it faster or slower

  • i guess its slower,it would be stupied to say its faster then NHL :D

  • heh point taken

what's the major type of league called there anyway??

  • its called "SM-Liiga" but many americans call it "Finnish Elite League"

  • They say that SM-liiga isn't so good as Swedish Elitserien (Swedish elite league), but swedish players have left sweden for finland, because they play more NHL-like hockey in Finland than in sweden. I think that in Finland there are more its and fights than in sweden.

  • u mean there are more hits :D?? And yes i know sm-liiga was rankt 3:rd of every league in the world and the only thing before SM-liiga was NHL as number 1. and Russian Super League as number 2.

  • BTW my comment was meant to the russian guy but whatever :D

  • haha, russian GIRL.

contrary to popular belief we actually take a great interest in hockey :D

  • Swedish major league (elitserien) isn't as good as Finnish sm liiga
