N900 Red Video LED Hack

Just download Live Focus and then you can turn the LED on/off just by changing a setting.

Good MOD but way too risky.

I would prefer a software hack to disable the red led instead.

Its not in the OS.

Tried and didnt work, the light goes even through 3 layers of ductape .

I i covered it with some "liquid electric tape" and then i stuck a very small piece of aluminum foil then covered that with some more liquid electric tape for isolation and tack.

You don't want the foil to short the board.

The red light is between the two big flash LEDs .

I can't actually see what you did to the LED..

I really want to disable it; did you just prize it off with a screwdriver or what?

Yes that's what i thought.

The hardest bit is popping the motherboard out of the case.

Every time i try to record my kids while they are doing something funny they stop what they doing and try to come and touch the red light, it's so annoying.

Now i record them with out them knowing it :D
