  • I never made it straight into the crock pot! What a great idea. I'll have to cut my recipe so it will fit in the pot! Nice. Thanks for the idea!

  • Beautiful soaps!

  • Just checking to see if you do it the same way I do! LOL

  • nice and simple, i like that, do you discount water or put some extra water for hot process?, 'cos your soap looks nice and runny, thanks.

  • Do you use natural fragrances or cosmetic grade?

  • "Zap" test? I don't make hot process soap but I'd like to.

  • Regarding color, I've never had any trouble with coloring my soaps. If you don't mind a non-natural color, try a crayon or two but I REALLY recommend the major brand name crayons only. You can then choose the color you really want. Melt the crayon in a small glass bowl in the microwave with a little oil first, add a bit of the soap mixture to it when it is melted or mostly melted. Then stir that in to the rest of the batch.

  • @thehappierbunny Have you tried this with cold process? I'd like to know how that worked out if you did. Thanks!

  • You get the calculations for the lye/water/oil ratio from some complex calculations or you do what I do and get it from a lye calculator on the web. They are free and tons easier to use than a paper and pencil and charts, etc.

Hot process is easier on scents and adds because the scent and additions don't have to sit in any active lye for weeks. You just need to make sure the soap mixture is a little cooled off when you add them so they don't evaporate.

  • @thehappierbunny what temperature should the soap be or how long does it have to cool off to add the scents and ads?

  • FYI you don't need to worry about flashpoints with soapmaking ;) Love the video!

  • No longer on Etsy?????

  • @Everywhere2 Yes I am, the link has been updated.

  • srry if you were asked this question before, but how do measure out the lye water ratio? TIA

  • looks yummy tho they are soap

  • UNCLE KRACKER !!! :).

  • How do you get pure lard?

  • I heard that you don't have to cool your lye solution for HP soapmaking. Why you have to do it? Do you have problem adding scent while the soap is still hot?

  • I am new to soap making, so I was gonna try to make some soapmaking, My question is I purchased a really great smelling mango frangrance oil that I want to put in my soap..my question is to everyone outthere is I was told that hot process makes fragrances hold a lot better than cold process is this true? why?

  • Great Job!!! But I still wanna see those goggles and gloves when your blending in the LYE LOL, what can I say I'm a Mom and Grandma.. it's my job to worry rofl.

  • Gorgeous. I'd love to do this.

  • I really love your soaps - don't the hot process ones come out bright as a button? They are all fab.

  • Very interesting, thanks for sharing!

  • Great Video :)

I tried multiple times making Crock Pot Soap but it NEVER worked out for me.

Either the consistency was off, or the color was off & every single batch, the scent was disgusting. I would add my scents in and it would turn out so nasty.

Can you make a step by step video on your Normal recipe for soaps?

    That would be really great

  • @ZeeJen The consistency for HP soap is like petroleum jelly when you get done and it doesn't take coloring well. When you scent the HP soap, you have to let it cool because otherwise you might be putting it in and flashing it off, leaving it either very strong or too weak. Flashing it means that the temperature is too high for the scent and it evaporates.
