It chimes renown from television shows, to pop music and tattoos. So I find it inevitable that it would be brought up in conversation here on Youtube as well.

The concept of God is a very personal issue, and cannot in my opinion be categorised into books, rituals or prayers of any particular kind. If God can appear as a burning bush, then why not Mohammad, Abraham, Moses, Hecarte or Thor? Jesus himself said that the Bible was not to be interpreted literally, but that it is what is in the heart and soul that makes you a righteous person.

@Hefaistos1 You're wrong on several counts. ALL that God created is acceptable in God's sight - it says so in the Bible. That includes gays. All humans, whether gay or straight, are sinful by nature. It's through God's grace that we are able to stand in God's presence. Sinful behavior is what won't last in God's presence.
I have had the blessing of being a vocalist and voice coach. I was singing solos at the age of 6, and although I found it frightening at first, my love for singing couldn't be abridged. I also followed that love through a degree in music, being a performer and sharing my love of voice with students. It is rare to find those who not only have talent but show such apparent joy in singing. Childhood is blessed by finding and excelling in a God given gift. Parents should encourage and support.

If the Lord is my shepherd then I'm in serious trouble. A shepherd exploits his sheep for personal gain, selling their milk, wool, and finally their bodies to be slaughtered by the butcher. The only reason the shepherd cares for his flock (feeding, protecting from predators, etc.) is so that he could use them for his own benefit. Who would want a Lord like that?

i would just like to say that i am atheist, but you are making all of the wrong points, jesus was 100% God and 100% human, therefore death was a possibility. also according to thomas aquinas, there is no evil, just an absence of therefore god did not create evil, he gave us the capacity to be less good.

Beautiful singing...the voices of angels. I am on a search tonight to hear as many song versions of this Psalm as possible. I composed a piano piece based on Psalm 23 an am interested in hearing what others have done with it.

It chimes renown from television shows, to pop music and tattoos. So I find it inevitable that it would be brought up in conversation here on Youtube as well.

@notgeoffrey The argument of religion should not even be around because the Protestant rifts shouldn't be around, all man made church's/ sects shouldn't be around. Christ left one Church one Shepard. The Catholic Church. When it comes to music it is also the Church who should be credited for it was her who gave us the beauty of western music. If you take a music history course you will begin with Gregorian chant and it won't be secularized till very later on.

The only true church is the Body of Christ, which is made up of born-from-above (gr. gennathei anothen) believers.
If you read 1st and 2nd Timothy as well as Titus you clearly see that it is in CONTRAST with the "catholic church" practices

I was referring to the Christian church. There's only one: The Body of Christ.

Although, I do believe that only faith in Jesus will get you saved, I am not about "converting" people. I am about presenting them the "good news" (gospel) and they need to ask God personally to show them the truth.
The "only true and genuine faith" can only be given BY the "only true and genuine" God.

The concept of God is a very personal issue, and cannot in my opinion be categorised into books, rituals or prayers of any particular kind. If God can appear as a burning bush, then why not Mohammad, Abraham, Moses, Hecarte or Thor? Jesus himself said that the Bible was not to be interpreted literally, but that it is what is in the heart and soul that makes you a righteous person.

We didn't work for us to have life but a very precious gift bestowed by the Almighty God :-)

well blake02 if you think you wiser than God who spoke these words through the prophet, I prefer to stay with God's words, and believe what He says. It is no other God but Him, and that this God can only approach in the way He has prescribed in the Holy Bible and not by the visions of Mohammed, Confucius or any other founders of religion.

@lolnumpty God is both willing and able but most people don't want his help or don't believe in him at all. As darkness is the absence of light so is evil the absence of God. God has given us free will, if he was to interfere with every evil without all of humankind believing in him and reaching out to him he would be like a tyrant, controlling us like puppets. Evil is all made by man and has nothing to do with God. All who believe will come to heaven if they ask forgiveness from God, everyone.

@lolnumpty He created us with the potential for a lot of things, that doesn't mean he wants gays, murder or war. He has told us what's right to do but doesn't make us do anything. If you refer to god killing the Egyptians during the time of Moses that wasn't because of their pagan worship but to force the pharaoh to release his people the Jews. I don't think the bible directly mentions that God is ever going to throw someone into hell, but the sinful won't be able to even stand in his presence.

@Hefaistos1 You're wrong on several counts. ALL that God created is acceptable in God's sight - it says so in the Bible. That includes gays. All humans, whether gay or straight, are sinful by nature. It's through God's grace that we are able to stand in God's presence. Sinful behavior is what won't last in God's presence.

I have had the blessing of being a vocalist and voice coach. I was singing solos at the age of 6, and although I found it frightening at first, my love for singing couldn't be abridged. I also followed that love through a degree in music, being a performer and sharing my love of voice with students. It is rare to find those who not only have talent but show such apparent joy in singing. Childhood is blessed by finding and excelling in a God given gift. Parents should encourage and support.

It's not an 'arrangement' but a note-for-note rendition of the choral composition (using the words of psalm 23) by Howard Goodall, the 'resident composer' on the radio station Classic FM. Howard has composed a large amount of music used for TV themes.

If the Lord is my shepherd then I'm in serious trouble. A shepherd exploits his sheep for personal gain, selling their milk, wool, and finally their bodies to be slaughtered by the butcher. The only reason the shepherd cares for his flock (feeding, protecting from predators, etc.) is so that he could use them for his own benefit. Who would want a Lord like that?

I'm not talking about death being a possibility. I'm saying is it really a sacrifice as a GOD that knows life is not over when your body dies? I mean he existed for an eternity(a trillion trillion trillion years) then assumes the form of human for 30 years and has man kill his physical body as a "perfect sacrifice" to himself? So I was not arguing about the possibility of death, just the logic. Plus I do not believe there is evil or good, just things that are more or less beneficial to myself.
