@killyeiden All I know is Heroes of Might and Magic 2 was well worth the free I payed for it, 150-250 hours later :). I never tried Heroes of Might and Magic 3, but never thought it looked that good personally.

Neither 'copied' each other, they both were however largely influenced by the original King's Bounty. From then on this genre flourished. I've played all the heroes games since I was a child, I've never heard of Disciples until recently and from watching the game play I'm excited to give it a try.
It's not exactly complex strategy, but there is provocation of thought within the combat. Along with strong RPG elements in both games, they're still considered strategy, regardless.
@renanherz not sure who coppied who but they are rival games form decades (disciples was more of a small and potent force - plus your troops lvl up and dont heal after the battle ends , heroes is about large army stacks and lots of magic stuff ) both games are cool in their own way

This is what frustrates me the most about turn based games like this, if you're going to have turn based put some fantastic fight animations in, don't just make them do repetitive 5 second animations.

@Lethn i would take stale animations if it meant balanced game play. i bought both disc 3: resurrection and heroes 6 and both are absolutely Horrible. they should not carry a strategy genre title. there is none involved. sadly the broken Kings Bounty games are much more in depth than those 3 games.

i can't deny, it does resemble HoMM a lot. But it's actually quite different from what i see. I haven't played yet, but i assume there still are rod planters. Also, the fighting phase seems to be different - you have movement points for the units, meaning you can move BEFORE you attack. That's not something to be overlooked.
Im a huge fan of the first two games and I was really wondering how the gameplay in this one would flow. This vid answers all my questions, thanks a lot.

I bought this without thinking from Steam.
At first glance I was like "WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?!?!"
But it looks a bit like a grown up Fire Emblem. I love Fire emblem. Let's hope it's like that.
