not really just judge it like a dance competition. You have different things that you are scored on and then all those scores are added together for a composite score and whoever has the highest wins.

@MNCheer Their music choice was sooooo much better than this spoken word junk. The Obirin team's synchronization was spot on and so much more elegant and polished than this routine. This was good, but extremely over-rated. Even the third place team from Japan had a better routine. Too bad. I think the status of "elite" team pushed the judges to give them higher marks. More like interpretive dance than jazz dance....sucks.

@rachelmarie3636: this team wasn't against eastern, the was pace in senior jazz. if this team was against eastern, that'd just be insane since pace international would've beaten them clearly, @ least with pace senior eastern was sorta close.
