@adkor3 What's weird is that I just made that up and it gave me goosebumps. As soon as I thought of it, I typed it out and posted it on here. The WWE Creative Team gets a lot of heat for their inconsistency. On one hand, I feel sorry for them because they have to constantly come up with story lines and it can be very exhausting. On the other hand, the passion and unpredictability factor is gone. Just speaking as a old-school fan, you know?

Another point, when Edge returns after injury, his merch will be off the shelf as soon as it hits it. Not only will the kids get their parents to buy them it, the older fans will buy it also cos Edge was already over with the older fans & has been for the last decade. WWE & Vince would make just as much money with Edge's merch. There is no positive aspect of turning him heel now financially. It may make it more interesting for guys like you but McMahon already figures, he has you in his pocket since you keep up with WWE anyway.

Another point, when Edge returns after injury, his merch will be off the shelf as soon as it hits it. Not only will the kids get their parents to buy them it, the older fans will buy it also cos Edge was already over with the older fans & has been for the last decade. WWE & Vince would make just as much money with Edge's merch. Sure, Cena will sell as well giving WWE twice as much money but whilst WWE makes twice the money, it makes perfect timing to freshen up its top star. Doesn't it?

I think this slow mo version would work for a heel run for him. picture it, with this version playing & cena walking down with big cocky smile on his face dressed in expensive gear diamonds & gold necklaces & rings having conned his fans with all the respect hustle & loyalty crap that the fans were so guilable to believe & Cena fooled em all & got rich with it.

See you didn't address the merchandise sale. Who is buying Cena t-shirts and products? The kids. So if they turn him into a heel, the wwe and McMahon lose money.
There is no positive aspect of turning him heel now financially. It may make it more interesting for guys like you but McMahon already figures, he has you in his pocket since you keep up with WWE anyway.
If turning Cena heel would attract more viewers and more money, that would be another thing but it isn't.

Like what happened with The Rock as has been stated by yourself, it was easier to turn heel back in the 90s when the internet still wasn't as big, You're exactly right. Rock turned heel, & the fans who hated him, loved him. Even with the internet being huge Cena could & I think will go the same way (altho obv not to the heights The Rock went to) but Cena hasnt even began to peek as a performer & he is a great performer, all it is now he only relates to kids but a character change can change that
