deer hunting is so cool,,, take your old lady and nail her against a tree,, the bucks will come from miles around... then BAM BAM BAM enough meat for the year.. it works,, and if you have already done this, disregard
Wounded deer always run downhill, and the doe wasnt angry, she stomped and snorted to try to get you to move or do something, she wasnt sure what you were and she was seeing if you were a threat..i had a doe do this and then after a few minutes she just walked on..you should get a bow
good lord you people have issues if you think draggin a 150 lb deer is a chore, sounds like you need to get a job where you actually do some MANUAL LABOR christ almighty, if its that much of a pain STOP HUNTING!
yea i always gut it on the spot makes everything so much eaier but last year me and my dad shot a nine point buck and had to drag it almost a mile and my dads got enphacema but a very nice hunter that we came across helped me drag it out to the trail were we could drive the car to it
Dude i know exactly what you went through on draggin that deer.. Last year i shot a big doe and she ran about 70 yrds away from me down hill.. I about had a heart attack pulling her up it and she was even field dressed.. I did have a harness on with a rope around her neck.. I pulled and stopped every 10 ft just to catch my breath LOL.. But hey its good times.
If you have a belt on or gun rope from your stand...place the feet behind the horns or in this case ears and wrap your belt or rope around the feet and ears and drag a bit eaiser to drag
Mine went 60 yards and had to drag her about 100 yards over somewhat flat ground. Field dressing would have made it an easier drag. Those deer are tough. Good job.
After moving my doe out of a small rocky depression, I dressed her cause I didn't want the extra weight. The rest of the drag was so hilly and steep I was wiped out after getting her in the truck. Luckily I had a bit of rope to make a handle with her leg.

The exit hole looks like it's a bit far back, but it entered right behind the shoulder, through the heart and never touched any of the guts.
