  • Thank you so much for this video! I am Caucasian but I have a hooded crease like yours. My eyes are very almond shaped and I have always wondered why my makeup never turned out when I follow tutorials aimed at women with a higher crease. I will subscribe to your videos :)

  • Hm :\ I am something in between the first and the second type ;s

  • @Naaoomz me too. :))

  • i have the second eye and im polish lol :D

  • i have one lid like the first one u taked about and one hooded lid and u cant rlly tell unless i put eyeshadow on and i can never make both eyes look the same

  • Comment removed

  • The second eye is not just found in Asian population, I'm black and I have the second eye

  • @TheBrooklynBratt

    She said predominately!

  • i have the first eye and i am asian

  • i have the first kind and im not white

  • Should i add eyeliner? Bcuz i have natural eye bags n it doesnt rly look that good :/

  • My crease like folds over the entire inner third of my lid so when I put on eyeshadow the first third of it is hidden by the crease /: ugh.

  • You're video is so informative and well explained :)

  • Awesome video. So i

  • Thank u so much! It's very useful tutorial :)

  • Great video! I always thought I had monolids but i actually have hooded lid. This makes so much more sense!

  • I have almond shaped-eyes and love how simple your tutorial is. Thanks!

  • thank you so much u explained it so easy and i understood everybit to it!!! :)))

  • omg u save my life!

  • You're amazing!I have the second eye type,and this tutorial really helped me a lot!Thank you!!:D

  • what about Africans? how could you completely leave out an entire race?

  • @showmethelove69 These eye shapes can apply to any race... Africans typically have the first type of eye, but they can also have hooded eyes.

  • It was great thank you!

  • Very helpful

  • @nappysusu i was just going to say that!:D

  • Excelllent!

  • I agree with everything except the hooded eyes. If u put the darkest color below the crease, you'll look like u have a monolid. You put the lightest color below the crease, then the darkest above it. This will make your crease seem bigger, and your eyes less chinky.

Other than that, i agree with everything else. Good vid.

  • @xandreaxoxo

I totally agree with you about putting the lightest color below the crease, then the darkest above it. I always do that and my eyes definitely look less chinky.

  • my brother is black we have like no asian (well alittle) and he has hooded eyes but no one else does in my family lol me and him are called Japanese all the time idk why they call me that though..

  • I'm half black half white... i have hooded eyes....no wonder i get called asian all the time. xD

  • I never understood why michelle phan's look were never flattering on me...(i'm quite new to make up techniques).....now i get it,i have big italian green eyes, with high lids and very deep crease, kinda like jessica alba....thanks for the video,it was very informative

  • The video was ery helpful but i have different crease like one eye is like the first one and my other eye is lile the second one

  • Thank you! Very helpful for doing my sister's makeup for her wedding. : ]

We have very different lids! :S

  • Hooded lid! I always thought I just had tiny eyelids..

  • tnx.... ur great!

  • Thank you sooo much!! I'm asain and I have the hooded eyelid and I never knew how to put on eyeshadow!! I've actually been doing it the way you showed but I've always thought I was doing it wrong.

  • My friend has eyes like yours which are different from mine and I feel bad when I can't do her makeup properly.

  • Great video

  • I cant find my eye shape/lid anywhere...

  • super super helpful for me as a eurasian!! i have a hooded eye... :)

  • I think I have a hooded lid, but a really small space between my eyebrow and my eyelid :/ and I'm not Asian

  • this was great very helpful thanx

  • Omg you are so pretty and cute. omg. <3

  • I'm a European Caucasion that has felt so left out make-up wise. I never know how to do my make-up because of the hooded eye lids I have. Thank you for the tips!

  • @maidmarian4 ME TOO!! i have hooded eyelids! i hate them

  • i just realized i dont have a crease...i look asian but im mixed: Black/irish/scottish/italian/french. fml. xD

  • thank u for the tips.....really helpful :)

  • how do you learn all this stuff?, you know so much about makeup and what to do with it, you should become a makeup artists teacher.. i learn soooo much from you!

  • It sucks that I can't find anyone doing a makeup tutorial for both a hooded lid and a monolid):

  • This is a great video! I have several friends who think that they can't recreate the kind of eyeshadow looks that I use for my own eyes on their eyes- I always tell them that it's not true! This clearly explains the way to modify any look to suit every type of eye! Thanks! (^-^)

  • Why didn't you do one for prominent eyes :(

  • Thanks so much for this excellent video! I have the hooded eyelid and I always try to fake a crease by adding dark eyeshadow under my brow bone where people mistakenly think where the crease is suppose to be at.

  • Comment removed

  • this was extremely helpful. thank you ^^

  • my crease isn't like any of these. :/

I can't seem to find anyone who has one like me. :(

  • wow!! that was a fantastic video!!

  • thank you for this. i work in cosmetics and i am new. i dont know how to shadow an asian eye so this is very helpful. just want to say that it is great u showed diagrams also. visual is very imp, not just talking. and you got strait to the point, no jibber jabbing like many others do. its annoying when u just want the info! thank you!

  • Thanks for clearing up the crease, lid, socket...etc. I watched some videos in here about eye makeups and first type eye makeup does not work for everyone...but I was frustrated that most of those people do how-to apply makeup for the first type only...which does not work for everyone. I think your video is great!! Thank you!

  • great video!

  • great video! really helpful! thank you so much!! (:

  • is the crease the one that you put the eyeliners on?

  • Comment removed

  • thanks! I've been doing some research that just simply explains what kinds of eyelids there are, and which kind am I. This video was really helpful. I also appreciate the makeup tips you corresponded with the types of eyelids, thank you:)

  • That is very informative thanks!

  • My eyes dont fit any either. I had an accentuated prominent brow bone, deep set eyes, and thus deep crease which is closer to the eye, almost overlaps the eyeball end, but is not too far away from the brow. N other words, the crease lies between eye and brow, but it is deep, and doesnt leave much area on the lid to apply the shadows!

  • i'm a beginner about make up and i love your explanation about eye types. This video had answer all my questions before. Many thanks!

  • This is a very gewd video^___^

I have the same eye shape thing as yhuuu!! :O XDLmao

  • i actually have a mixture of one and two. i have a crease but a gentle hooded lid in the middle of my eye, i like to use a mixture of both of these techniques but i always need to use pretty dark blacks/greys browns for the crease to acually show up

  • Thanks for the info, it was useful. I have the hooded lid and always had a problem doing smokey eyes.

  • nice infoo. (;

  • I have the first eye ^.^

  • great video!!!!!!!! i have mono lids...and was always confused about what technique I should use!!!!!!

  • Very good informative video , and you did wonderful job with the diagrams..But using pics for the celebrities you mentioned would have helped a lot as well :)

  • Comment removed

  • i have the first eye lid, but i always wanted the third eye lid type :|

  • im in between high crease and hooded lid!! help!!

  • another video said to put lightest on inside and out wards dark colors of the lid

    youtube.com/watch?v=yxNCTX2ehkc

  • *sigh i wish i had the first eye-_-

  • Thank you! This is very very helpful. I finally know what type of eye I have. same as yours.

  • my eyes dont fit into any, because i have hooded eyes but it shows a large area of the eye lid.. and i dont even have a brow bone that shows

  • very informative. thank you

  • I found that I have hooded lid but I usually use the deep/ high crease type of makeup.

  • This was really great! Only thing is I'm black and I didn't find an eye type that I could relate to, but I will keep the tips in mind when applying my eyeshadow! Really helpful (not racist... Just once again we got left out! LOL j/k) Thanks for the tips/info!

  • i'm still confused...the pictures made it worse for me.

  • what an informative vid! it' s really professional. love it! I'm a deep/high crease with a strong almond eye shape. can you do a natural looking make-up tutorial with summery colours? I always have problems with that cause they're sort of too-standing-out. so I use browns in mate. can U help?

thumbs up! I love your videos <3

  • Thank you so much!! I've been trying to look for something like this!! I gave deep set eyes and I want them to look less deep set so I think I know what I should do now :)

  • What do I do if one eye is hooded and the other isn't? :c

  • Great video, I actually have a hooded eyelid, and i'm caucassion (i don't think i spelled that right...) anyway, thanks so much :]

  • @tomatokie11 Do you expect her to include EVERY race and ethnicity? She's just listing a FEW examples of people who have those kinds of eyelids. Also, keep your rude remarks about her ethnicity to yourself; I think being Asian is very exotic and striking.

  • i'm caucasian and have hooded eyes :(

  • Thank you, I have caucasian/ hispanic heritage and I have small eyes, a semi hooded lid and I have been looking for tips on how to apply eye makeup to make my eyes look bigger and flattering, not to close up my eye or make it beadier LOL. Can't wait to try the tips!

  • Excellent video.

  • I'm european and i also have a hooded eye.

  • Wow! I think this may help me a ton on why I cannot follow make-up tutorials and can figure out what flatters my eye most :)

  • XD Thank you, thank you, thank youu!! ^^;; <3

  • Erm you can't expect every video to be perfect, she didn't do a certain eye type maybe because she doesn't know or some other reason? I believe it isn't intentional. I am not trying to defend my own race or whatever but, yeah.

Anyway, love your video. Learnt so much. :)

  • THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!! i have hooded eyes and its so hard to apply shadow without it looking weird

  • I'm in between the deep set high crease and the hooded eyelid.. So what should I do?

  • @TildzBox sent me here and wow you know so much stuff, I really enjoyed that vid!

  • thank you so much! It always been hard so me to do my make up because one of my eyes is hooded and the other is mono :/

  • Oh my, thank you so much for this!

Ignore the dumb comments btw. They're so not worth it.

  • i'm brazilian and i have a hooded eye lid. thx for making this video

  • very informative.

  • I'm white, but I have a deep hooded lid. I tried the gradient style that you suggested & it looks really nice. thanks!

  • im black and my eyeshape is like urs. thanx for this vid now i will know how to do my makeup.

  • so you really didnt find it necessary to mention anything about african-american eyes? wow...

  • @plus0size0barbie1 im sure you have at least one of those eye types up there

  • @13CANTU1 actually i dont.... thats not even the point. then again, who asked you/ dont worry, i'll wait....

  • @plus0size0barbie1 what... why you bein rude, not even necessary.so what you have alien eyes or something even black people have those type of eyes up there

  • @13CANTU1 not being rude, just letting you know. and i definitely dont have alien eyes. dont talk about someone being rude but come back with some rude (and dumb) comment. there are more than the few eye types that she listed. predominantly, african-americans dont have any of those eye types. no need to keep responding to me. you have no importance to my inquiry. thanks.

  • @plus0size0barbie1 umm ok im pretty sure you were being rude first, and im also pretty sure African Americans have the first eye type only its a little bit more slanted { almond shape} And if im so not important to you then maybe you shouldn't comment back.Welcome.

  • I have a hooded lid and I'm not Asian..but I look asian though

  • i am caucasian but when i open my eyes you cant even see what most people consider the "lid" and "crease" of the eye

    its completely hooded over :(

my eyes are also slightly downturned

all eyemakeup looks bad on me :(

  • i have the first one thanks for the vid verry helpful!

  • wow. i just realized how weird my eyes are...

  • THank you for this! I am actually an Afro-Caribbean woman with a hooded lid and I have had trouble for years trying to figure out my eye makeup.

  • thx

  • this is actually so helpful! I'm an Asian and i have a hooded lid which is soo annoying to do eye makeup on but at least i have a crease! Thanks so much for this!

  • I'm white and i have hooded lids! Wow-a i never realized i did.

  • hey. i'm really interested in knowing more about applying the proper make-up for my eyes, (coz i seriously think im putting on the wrong one).

but, i think i'm somewhere between high crease and small crease. so i don't really know how to classify myself. my crease isn't that high, but it isn't that small either.

    a little help here?

  • so informative! thank you! i was always confused at my eyelid type. i always thought it was either a double eyelid or mono, and i now i finally know i have a hooded eyelid! it feels so good to know! haha and it's wonderful information to find out because of the different techniques used for different lid types...thank you so much! :D

  • this video is not racist. I am caucasian and have a naturally hooded lid(i am 19) and i did not take offense. she USUALLY found in. Everyone is different.

  • Hey, Just wanna say thank you so much for this video. I thought I was the only one with hooded lids thought there was no make up that will flatter my eyes. Thanks again :)

  • thank you! this helped me a lot i actually have a project work for school in wich im going to talk about makeup

    thanKs!!!

  • I thought this video was very informative. My eye type is the first type where the crease folds where the brow bone is. I actually drew the eye sketch so that I could follow your instructions.

  • I'm mixed and I have native American in me do I have hooded eyelids sooooo frustrating at times :)

  • very informative! great job!

  • I'm asian and I have a hooded lids like yours the only difference is the lids are fat so they cover the area underneath the fold and it's horrible to do makeup on it. I don't bother putting eyeliner anymore because it wouldn't be visible since it just disappears behind the lid. So I wondering if you have any tips on that because I love makeup but it's just really hard to put it on

  • Hi - great video! I have mono lids (interesting wording because my eyelid is actually not even visible) and it's nice to see a how-to video on eye makeup that mentions this type of eye. I end up putting the darkest color on the middle of the pillowy tissue that touches my upper eyelashes and also towards the outside. Thanks for the informative video!

  • This is the most helpful video that I have ever watched!

    Thanks for posting it :)

  • this was the most helpful video i've ever found. everything is so clear and you made such good use of vocabulary. This really helped me A LOT!

    I'm subbing :)

  • thank u very much for discussing this!

    made everything clear. haha.

it's sad how i didn't know where my crease is.

  • I don't necessarily have a hooded lid but my eyelid area is very small and most of the time my smoky looks just look muddy. I am so grateful for your advice! I will definately give this a try! Thankyou :)

  • I LOVED this video!! I have the same type of eye as you. This was REAAAAALLLLYYYYY helpful!! i think its great how you did this video and helped so many people having questions about their eye type and how to apply eyeshadows in a way that flatters their eye shape:) THANKS♥

  • wow! that was ewally informative thank you! :D

  • thanx, this makes my life so much easier xx

  • loved this video....i have hooded eyes and will definitely be using these tips. thanks

  • wow! thank you so much this was so helpful. only video on youtube that even makes sense on explaining this :)

  • Thanks for this!

  • gosh i still dont know what mine is

  • OMG I finally found a video that answers my question! THANK YOU!

  • This helped :) very informative and straight to the point.

  • you should have used actual pictures not diagrams

  • i have a monolid eyes.. n i'm dying to know how i should put make up on, correctly.. please do help me.. :)

  • THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. I've always wanted to know what type of an eyelid I had, because it is always different than the ones typically exemplified in makeup tutorials. Now I know I have a hooded lid and I can finally do my makeup properly!

  • I think this tutorial was very precise, easy to follow, and well done. Good for you!

  • this was very informative THANK YOU <3 it's unfortunate that some people are so extremly defensive... i can't get over some of the negative comments. i think your great and so are your videos :-)

  • thank you so much >"< i love this video,it's really helpful for me :x

  • so only caucasian and asian people have eyelids?

  • @mtrench44 She mentioned other European peoples and singled out Jessica Alba as an example. She's talking about the most commonly found eyelids and obviously you could have a mix of two, among other eye characteristics. You think Amerindians look Caucasian? Why are you bringing up non-issues?

It would help you quite a lot if you actually listened to what she's saying.

  • @happyjellyfish i DID listen and was just pointing out this video was only helpful to certain types of people were as there are other types of eye creases and should have probably looked it up more to help everyone!

  • @mtrench44 Oh wow, well by all means do enlighten me and everyone else about these elusive other creases, that aren't a mix of the ones she's already pointed out. I'd love to know because I'm very intrigued.

  • @happyjellyfish well there are girls that have droopier eyelids (at the end do as in no lid), and girls with a very deep crease and the makeup for the 'Caucasian' lid wouldnt suit it at all. btw i dont need to answer to you, i was being serious about the fact that she wasnt very specific and not just bothering people the way you are.

  • @mtrench44 I have big almond eyes with a hooded lid &rounder lower bottom waterlines. I STILL got something useful from this video. If you want her to make a universal video helping with every single kind of eyelid, you're being unreasonable. She can only give guidelines - it's up to you &your intellect to put those together &try things around to see what works for you. I'M not the one bothering people, you just seem to have a great case of entitlement and stubbornness.

  • @mtrench44 PS.- You're also the one who started making this about race as well. It's not. You also mentioned the option of 'looking things up' - maybe you should try that.

  • @happyjellyfish i'm not the ones giving people advice and obviously i was looking things up because i was looking for this video genius. and my original comment was about the facet she only metioned those 2 types of people in the video. btw im done with you, you can reply all u want but i wont reply-i wont even read it because answering back to you is a waist of my time. you can get as frustrated as you want but this was never a big situation i just wrote what was on my mind. goodbye

  • I think I have really weird eye type, lol. My eyes have asian type crease but the fold of eye socket (browbone area) is really deep, so it's like i have two creases. -.-!

  • THANK U!!!! I was one who confused my eye socket 4 my crease...WELL DONE...VERY HELPFUL!!!!

  • THANK U THANK U THANK U!!!! I GET IT NOW!!! I was the one of those who confused my eye socket 4 my crease...WELL DONE..VERY HELPFUL!!!

  • This is a great tutorial.. I have a tutorial on applying crease colour to hooded lids but I think I will make another video using your technique. I will let you know when I do and add a link/refer people to this video xxx

  • for all those famous people you named for the first diagram, you left out me! thanks!

    lol just kidding!

  • I sortof have the asian one but i'm not even asian :l
