I'm not a professional photographer

But my bridge camera (GE X5 Power Pro) of 14.1 mp has a lot of control and options on manual mode. ( EV - Shutter Speed - Aperature - focus - macro focus - ISO - ASA - and more ...)

It has 15x optical zoom

it's like a Digital SLR Style camera

My point is, there is point and shoot, Compact, bridge camera then the SLR and DSLR

So even bridge cameras can have more megapixels than a Digital SLR.
