Which Flowmaster mufflers are those? Original Standard 40 Series? Super 40 or 40 Series Delta Flow? Are they single chamber, dual chamber or three chamber?
nah it does the opposite; it sounds quieter. If you want a louder sound, before you think cat-back, think Off-Road X or H mid-pipe. However since the O/R mid-pipes do not have catalytic converters then it may be illegal in your area.
@koolclient He could also try some high flow cats. I am going to test a combo in a few weeks and see how it goes. MAC O/R H + SLP high flow cats + the Flowmaster 40s that's already on the car.
yeah, the only problem with the h pipes is that they dont merge the exhaust pulses too well after about 3000 rpms but the difference isnt noticable i dont think
yeah but its such a small difference, its pretty much a matter of sound. h pipes have that real raspy, nasty sound that i love, so i like em. x pipes i think sound more smooth and deep, but whatever.
i would have gone with an x pipe over the h pipe as the x pipe produces more torque than an h pipe and afterall torque is what you feel when ya mash on tha gas
But there are a little bit more cons to the X pipe. It get even worse when you have to do a custom job. Not only that but it doesn't sound right at hight RPM. I like the H setup, sounds better and more original. Also if you had say 400 horsepower it doesn't make sense when you have enough already.

You mean X-Pipes sound raspy and H-Pipes sound smooth and deep.

Other way around dude. X pipes are raspy. H pipes are deep.
