Finally I see how a 1000 can be taken by a 600 in slower sections! Is it because the 1000 is heavier (its only like 40 pounds heavier than most 600's) or is it because the 600's powerbands let them put power down while the 1000 has to hold back?

Ive had a couple of years on a 600,was thinking about a 1000,but dont think i would be any quicker as most of my rides are on bendy roads.this guy on the zx6 just confirms that.

Andy is an absolute legend and chances are he’d beat most people even on a uni-cycle!

I remember his MV lap and at the time it took the record but that was a couple of years back.

@seymourbutt312 if you check your facts you will find andy carlile holds the lap record on a k7 gsxr 600 at 7.17 and on a mv augusta f4r 312 at 7.21.. and the 3rd fastest lap time is held by oh the baron on a yzf r1 at 7.28.... your fat fagan isnt even in the top 10....your the one talking shite..

The fastest lap of a motorcycle is held by a German and that record was set in the early 90ies on a Honda RC-30. He rode around the 20,8km in 7:49.71min

And many german riders are quick at the Ring, but also the dutch and brits, but bare in mind the Nordschleife does not host any motorcycle races since the late 70ies and it's very dangerous to race there. That's all pay per drive tourist laps you see on the net

Andy Carlisle is very quick, completed a flying lap with him last year, his words were, "go to overtake me if you want me to go faster, and if i see you drop back, i'll slow down" So we're off, and im up for it. Go to over take, so he speeds up, still not up to speed, so i go for it again, and he speeds up some more, done half the track, I'm almost racing out of my skin, but i still have another shuv left in me, so i go again. Within 3 bends, he was gone haha very talented fellas utmost respect!

I've been in Nordschleife the last August for the first time... It was just a dream came true But... God, these guys are unbelievably fast and this track is so hard!

But when I think about IoM and how some of them go there... Nurbungring is nothing.

Yeah, if there's no race or industry testing everybody can drive the Nordschleife (w/o GP track, 20,8km 1983 1000km version) with a street legal thing, no matter if car or bike.

But be aware, you'll also have family vans, camping cars or even huge busses that might wait behind the next crest for you ;)

if you think pb is bad ,you should try the rest of the mags ! (fb excluded)the current series on the ring is pioneering and will be remembered as well as the fast bikes videos of old (shakey ,frosty etc )anything the other mags are involved in at the moment pales into insignificance compared to this .also note that none of the other journos have been out for a serious play either ! well ,apart from one lot who wer happy enough to potter round about a minute slower than these guys .
