@skyakutsk There are taxi companies, some collective; also small mini buses which they are not expensive at all. However, it is better to rent a car, that way you are independant and free to go around the island at will with no waiting for anyone else to pick you up. :-))

Greck cypriots had got those problems after the revalution of greece at the beginning of 1970's. Some greeks tried to make the same revalution in cyprus to unite cypruse to greece. So they used force over innocent turks in order to overcome them or make them emigrate out of the island. Turkish cypriots have lived the same problems much more than greek cypriots have.They need the same things,too. However they feel themselves in peace anymore and want to continue to get in peace.

If you Study Greek History, you ll find out that Turkey was a greek land, and capital of Greece was Constantinoupolis, some ppl call it now Instabul. After 1473, the turks invated to this land and took it, the same way they took 30% of Cyprus in 1974. The place now known as Turkey was called Small Asia. Google it for more info on GreekHist

@skyakutsk There are taxi companies, some collective; also small mini buses which they are not expensive at all. However, it is better to rent a car, that way you are independant and free to go around the island at will with no waiting for anyone else to pick you up. :-))

The campaign included massacres, forced deportations involving death marches, and summary expulsions. According to various sources, several hundred thousand Ottoman Greeks died during this period. Some of the survivors and expelled, especially those in Eastern provinces, took refuge in the neighbouring Russian Empire.

@giorgisk i think your telling a very edited, and one sided story...again the christians STARTED a armed rebellion against the state, helping the invading forces..Armenians crossed the border into Russia to help them invade...there were massacres on bothsides...so the deportation was necassary to stop further massacres, and kick them out from strategic areas where theyre helpful to the foreign invaders..not to "exterminate" them... or "genocide"
