  • It will create additional stress on the quadriceps including the quadriceps and the patellar tendon, yes.

    Whether that stress is necessary or not is down to the individual preference. Heel elevated versions are widely accepted, especially in this exercise as it allows for a more upright position to maintain proper spinal curvature.

  • With the heels elevated doesnt that create more unnecessary stress for the knees?

  • @Chiefontheditty Reply above. This heel elevation is an exaggerated version of the wedge used extensively in Olympic Weightlifting shoes. One of the sports with the lowest incident of knee injury.
