TD-9K and TD-9S are the same thing. S means it's being sold in US, K means it's being sold in Europe. I don't know the reason for this.

Roland position the 9K on their web site as more advanced than the 6K, with the 12 and 20 above that. In fact, the 9K is less capable than the 6K, a lot. Perhaps Roland withdrew the 6K because it was sold at too low a price, and are pushing people to the 12. The 9 is not a replacement for the 6. It is about half as capable on all dimensions you measure it.

Expect it has HALF as many songs, sounds, kits adn user slots, as the 6K. Yet it is more expensive. The manual of the 9K is half the pages of the 6K, yet, it is sold at a higher price, and Roland CLAIM that the 9K has "new" and "more". Worse - ALL the interesting unusual melodic sounds have been taken off the unit. Compare the two manuals and it is very clear.
