He is one of my dogs and escaped from a harnesss. We did NOt let him off lead, we are very careful. Suffice to say we now never use a harness and yes, thankfully all was well and Oscar the "Whippetty thing" is fine and dandy.

oh what an A-hole, I hope some horses trample his kids or something, no his kids shouldn't pay for his stupidity, he should get trampled by horses! It's wrong from the owners to let the dog go but that's the owners fault, not the dogs.

@saminiky Sometimes things that you do not expect happen. It was not anyone's fault that the dog got loose.My dog is very sneaky and used to slip out of his harness.

@wooga1966 - is he a whippet, grey or lurcher? i thought maybe whippet. i was worried for him but glad to hear he is ok. He wanted to play but his weaving in and out in front of the lead horse was scary to watch (i breed whippets, and race and lure course them), and i've had mine accidentally get into the pasture a couple of times and chase the horses or worse yet, the BULL!!! Frightening when that happened.
