Attention!! Those who want these sounds and more- DEFINITELY check out his website. He has 47 free sounds of swishes like these. And oh my god, they're unbelievable. I thought I had my eye (ear lol) on a certain sound on this video, but wow- I can't even decide which one I want to use in my video. They're all so amazing!!
So check his stuff out- I swear it will be better than the video.
Thank you so much for uploading so many SFX for free.
Foley rooms are very expensive too do properly - they need to be very quiet & isolated from external noise as many sounds required in foley are very quiet (eg cloth movement) In this vid I'm using my own recorder & mic (Sound Devices 722 + Sanken CSS5) but this actual foley room records to ProTools because foley is performed in sync to picture
Hey Subbasshead, do you have any recommends on making a foley room? I want to build my own. And what type of mic/recorder do you recommend? I have the Olympus LS-10
@XxCONMYSTROxX what an egg! if you want some clean non-crappy youtube rez swishes & whooshes search google for HISS and a ROAR swishes - i make about 50 freely available on my site
these were recorded with a Sanken Cs5 stereo shotgun mic... but any shotgun mic should be ok... even a mono one (you can always pan them afterwards) The mic is basically recording the sound of the object cutting through air & the closer you get to the mic the better/closer the sound, hence the Rycote wind protection on the mic...
I love the second one :D

I think if you hit an air mattress, it makes for a good punch or kick blocking noise.

I'm trying to achieve similar effects for my current university project. Could you tell me which microphone you are using here? Thanks

Not only was that cool, but I needed some whoosh sound effects, and now I got a couple of good ones. 5/5!
