I enjoy the tactical defending , even my defense begins when my opponent is in the my last 1/3 of pitch, but most games I play end with (0-2) goal difference, and that is very realistic. Most players don't even bother with the slide tackle which is overpowered when your player has a good tackling attribute and when u know when to use it. However, the offense is for the first time amazing and very fun, for me I enjoy offense more than defense maybe that is why i prefer it.
Fifa 12 is a double edge sword, at first its almost impossible.. until you realise how to utilise all of its tactical defending benefits.. the UP SIDE to all of this is that when you score a goal, you actually FEEL like you have scored a real fucking goal.. the game is so hard that you actually appreciate every single good play and every single goal scored.. i tried to go back to the old way of defending in the settings.. but i felt like i was cheating.. I like it but I am pretty good at it. You have to be able read the play and switch players manually to put them in the right positions because if you can't do that you will struggle.

Well, it is, what it is. Tactical defending is a cool concept, i just think they shouldnt have put it in this years game, they should have waited until fifa13, Player impact engine was enough to advertise with....sucks also, sometimes.

What I hate is the cpu not trying to attack for ages, holding the ball (that's boring as fuck) and then hitting a 30yarder that magically finds the sweet spot every time. I don't think it sucks, I think it is incomplete. EA calls it "Tactical" to something that is just a little tiny piece of what could be a REAL Tactical Defending.
New defending just requires more patience. You have to Jockey them, stand in between the man and the goal. Then when you get a chance to press b to tackle, or let them run into you. I think it was a good add on to the game. Holding A and B isn't skill, it just so god damn cheap.
Its the single best thing of this Fifa decade. Playing against Legacy defenders is painful specially cause ur afraid to loose the ball and gaining possession again is hard, but this makes the game better, much better as a whole specially because dribbling the ball became more fun. I hope they eventually remove Legacy Def or at least put a filter in the Heah2Head section to play against only Tactical Defenders.
