  • Wow...So very beautiful!!!!!!

  • What a gem! This has long been one of my favorite songs and to see this live performance is just wonderful :) Thank You for posting this!

    Annie

  • Oh, baby! You're my angel!

  • This is an amazingly beautiful song, Justin Hayward is such a gifted songwriter, the Blue Jays album has several more heartfelt offerings. I love this.

  • Justin, I love you more than words can say! Ever since I heard NIWS when I was only 11, back in "68! You're an Angel!

  • Justin, you still amaze me my brother. Peace, Surfer Joe

  • Thanks so much for saying the origin of these wonderful clips! Many of these songs, I've wanted to hear with just the guitar! This is great! Thanks for sharing as well, MoodiesFan!!

  • oh and I am STILL vey much a JUSTIN HAYWARD fan...wish he had gone forward with his solo career many years ago, such a talent!

  • ok, THIS is proof of who wrote this lovely song from Blue Jays, hailed by many critics as 'the best album to come from the Moody Blues breakup. I am taking issue with the songwriting credits on bth I-tunes AND Amazon for downlads. Justin indeed wrote the majority of songs on this album including this one. Well, on both I-tunes AND Amazon MP3 downloads this song is unblievably credited to John Lodge, along with several others, anyone who is concerned lets get this straight!

  • Quite easily the sexiest voice in rock 'n' roll.

  • @6828Lu

    The sexiest man ever!

  • just absolutey beautiul...to all of us..in our hearts...they are in the rock n' roll hall of fame...

  • l love this song...justin sings from his soul...about his soulmate from a past life...true love found...but why couldnt they be together? she was celtic..and he was a knight...from england?

  • .. Illuminating ...Dreams....One Of Justins Specialties...

  • @cloudjia So could I. His voice is timeless; THE voice of the Moody Blues. All of them are important, but he is the MVP.

  • This is just sublime, thanks for posting!

  • Talent beyond compare; beauty beyond this world; masterpiece for the ages; I love you more than words can say <3.

  • " Loves plans are made" So very true...!!!! This is a very special video to me. Sang with such love and sincerity. Justin really is a true poet, and awesomely gifted and talented musician, and man. He oozes charm. How very lucky we are to be able to witness this prodigy at work. XXxxXX.

  • A true troubador, no doubt! Unlike other musicians who live for "sex, drugs and rock and roll", Justin and the MB's produce truly fabulous music! They deserve to be in the RRHF as much or more than anybody, except the Beatles, ha. Vastly under rated. This is a great relatively unknown song I listened to on a CD a lot in my car, a really nice song.

  • @nealixd

A true troubador to be sure. I recall when it hit the radio in America. I immediately went out and bought the LP ("long playing" or big, black wax disc).

  • Classic...there will never be another Moody Blues...

  • ...These Reflections....From The Heart.... And...So Human....Rock On ....Legendary Magical Moody Man....

  • Blue Jays was a gorgeous majestic album .... rich and lush production and impeccable guitar work..... just beautiful

  • So very beautiful. I'm bawling...

  • @winocat1

Justin should try the American song Green Green Grass of Home, as he did with Don Mclean's Vincent. He has the range, although I am sure he knows best; he might decide he needs all of the Moody's. Tom Jones, another Brit, has the best rendition ever; so it is possible. As Justin always says, "It is all about the music."

  • After hearing this song, it reminded me of my dog who died 11/2 yrs. ago. It brought back some good memories. But it still hurts that he no longer here. Thanks Mr. Hayward.

  • @hitchhiker4ajax

I understand. Justin is simply the best (with probably Buddy Holly) Pop/Rock and Roll artist of the 20th century. The Beatles are hard to beat, but they chose a different stream in 1970. Justin, as many of the great singer/songwriter/musicians, has stayed with what he does best. As he has said, "It is all about the music." The meaning is it is not about him. He wants to please us with his music, which is rare among Rock and Roll musicians.

  • @MyPaulHenry

Please allow me to edit my earlier post. Justin does not want simply to please us or to get attention. He wants to join with us in appreciating the music he creates. Again, it is all about the music, not Justin or the Moody's.

  • What an amazing performer and song writer.

  • Beautiful song. I like hearing it in this simple, direct version. I miss some of the counterpoint that's on the Blue Jays album's arrangement, which however is a bit lush for my taste. I wish I could blend the two...

  • they surpass the hall of fame...

  • i saw him and the moody blues in concert in Atlanta, Ga. Fantastic voice.

  • very similar to Buddy Hollys' 'well it's alright'

  • holy ****! where are these videos coming from? unbelieveable

  • doremi when you're 50 you'll realize how beautiful a message your dad had for you in all his words

  • Beautiful song, great voice! I miss the moody blues !!!

  • Justin is the babest of them all!

  • I've not heard this particular version of the song before. Absolutely stunning . The man is a genius !

  • Check out "Marie" by Justin Hayward on my channel. Youtube.com/GlobetownArt.

  • Justin is still so beautiful!!! Wow!! He is so amazing!!! His voice is so angelic and it just peirces my heart with its beauty!! This song is just so mesmerizingly gorgeous!! It truly touches my heart and soul!! ILY Justin!! So beautiful indeed!! ♥♥

  • Thank you for this- Justin Hayward puts to music all the feelings and experiences of people in love

  • Blue Jays was a gorgeous album end to end ..... the production was exquisite.... with their usual tasteful use of symphony and Justin's beautiful voice.

  • I Dreamed Last Night takes us to this present moment of our love, our deepest, highest passionate path of and with the heart. Justin speaks to the lover in all of us--hold onto your love, your heart--just love; he sings the deep, simple, coherent meaning of his lyrics with a heart, his heart that seems boundless, utterly infinite. -- Justin is, at once, one of the greatest of artist poet actor singers, the maestro creator of his human spirit, & a role model for generations of heart & spirit.

  • yes i do thanks

  • Don't suppose anyone has the guitar chords for this?

  • Their Music is Majical, and it doesn't matter where or when !

  • I am just discovering this man's music! I have been missing out!

  • I think that the band outclassed the Hall Of Fame. Even if they were ever honored there, it really wouldn't mean that much, they are beyond it now. Still, I think it's pathetic on the part of the induction regents to continue to snub them because they played with symphonies and did the first rock opera. For "non-inductees" they sure have set the bar for that genre.

It's been a wonderful ride guys, and thanks for the memories...

  • @cbxsage - beautifully said!

  • @cbxsage You are right. The Hall of Fame voters can only be jealous, which is the usual reason those of us with talent or looks are slighted.

  • beautiful- I think that is the GUILD guitar that got smashed in New Zealand when the Moodies went there on tour....it has a great tone..not all guitars are the same..I am sure Justin misses it..

  • Anyone here know how I can acquire a copy of this DVD. I love his music !!

  • The truth is Justin Hayward is one of the most accomlished singer/songwriters of this generation. He often gets overlooked because he is not flambouyant ot self promoting, just a humble man who loves to make beatiful music. His music is simple and true, which is why these accoustic versions sound so good, because often this is how they are created. Rock on!

  • I've been singing this song all day so I decided I'd better just listen!

  • Wow. That's all I can say from beneath the smother of the memories this conjures

  • Blue Jays was a beautiful majestic album ..... " Nights, Winters, Years" was an astonishing vocal performance...

  • I dreamed always whit your songs ...maybe si scrive così? ...meraviglioso ... fa parte dei Mody Blues ....

  • I know of only one other artist who can play a guitar and sing unplugged and make it sound like a record, and that's Lindsey Buckingham. This is real talent. God given talent.

  • @NephilimFree

    watch?v=RIkuheLiADM

    watch?v=Uhet0b1uTA4

  • @NephilimFree Funny....I think Lindsay sounds horrible live.

  • this is one of my favourites

  • His voice is heaven sent.

  • This is one of the greatest songs ever written. So under rated..

  • When I was younger, in overcoming my insomnia, I would imagine I was in a crowded place, or on a beach or mountaintop. I would pick up my Martin guitar and start playing and singing with a voice just like Justin Hayward's...the girls would swoon and everyone would dab their eyes at the beauty of it all --- and then morning would come.

  • grote klasse ,Justin heeft een stem om jaloers op te worden, hij heeft vele mooie muziek gemaakt, herinnerin aan mijn jeugd (sixties)

    moody bleus forever!!!

  • It is hauntingy beautiful. I woke up today singing this song beause I actually did dream last night of seeing someone out of my past. My dream was so vivid, and the person that I dreamed of (now deceased) said only word to me. I asked him why he came to me. He said: "Closure".

  • @Jurrzzeegirl

Thank you for your comment. It was what I needed, after all these years. Kira

So now I'm singing Justin's song, one of my favorites from my favorite band.

  • I finally found this DVD after a long search! So happy!

  • Comment removed

  • This is indeed te best version of the song, beautifull

  • When he sings solo, it sounds as if he has an orchestra with him. It is so beautiful.

  • Sweetest song ever. So imploring. It gets me every, every time I hear it.

  • ...I Agree ...Why Is It Important.....That the Moodys get in the..... RRHOF...I Believe that the Moodys...... Are Much Better than the..... Hall Of Fame.....surely The Measure of the Moodys Music.... Is Much More ....Than That Of.... HOF....Can .....Trust...Love....Time..... Freedom.....Dreams.....Voices In The Sky... Ever Be Understood By The RRHOF.....Politics.....Has No Measure...In Comparison.... To Truth....From The Heart......

  • Quite riveting really! just superb open-tuning and guitaring and spotless, velvet vocals too.

  • What I love about this song ,and all of his songs ,are the same. A moving and melodic effort at something mystical and hypnotic that gives the listener something to feel great about being alive. Thanks Justin for everything.

  • Yes, their songs will be eternally in my heart. But they are the one, the only voice in rock music that blended the finestof classical music with rock. They stand alone in that achievement, and for that they belong in the RockHall.

  • ...I Agree..... Why Is It Important....The Moodys....are So.... Relevant to..... Daily Life.... Love.... Humanity.... The Sentiment Of Moody Music....Flys ...Over The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.....Enduring On It's Own ....From The Heart........

  • Wonderful...my Favorite!

    thank you!

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • .......Reflections.....Of A Fabulous Musical Legend.....What A Generous And Beautiful.....Spirit......

  • Justin can perform solo fablously alone, much in the way Richard Thompson can hold an audience captive with just himself and the guitar. I love him!!

  • When was this recorded? I LOVE how THE MAN has kept that beautiful voice...and face...and......***sigh......

Understandably how he was known as "THE Voice of the Moody Blues"

  • Justin Hayward is my favorite singer. He shares the songwriting stage with Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Cohen, Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen!!!

  • God, this is one of my favourites from my early years! Listened to it a million times!

  • Ook al zo'n mooi nummer wat is het toch een fantastische songwriter.

  • saw MBs their 1st time to Chi. sat on the bottom step at orch pit at Auditorium . Had the previlage to have been sung to by the man.......Was a very good night.....

  • Dedicated to the most beautiful woman!

  • OH MY GOD LISTEN TO THAT VOICE!!!! I would kill to sing like that....

  • Wonderfull performance by a master. The first time I heard them was when the Moody Blues released Go Now. Been a follower since. Justin has a wonderful voice and writes some of the best love songs ever.

  • mooi heel mooi

  • a very good song

  • I love the moody blues, they hold so many memories for me. xx

  • Why is it important that they get in the rock and roll hall of fame? The value of their music in our hearts is so much more relevant!

  • @whyutah *you are right...the rock and roll hall of fame is an american codswallop...and given that some that have been inducted are total garbage...for me devalues the music of far superior artists in there alongside them...who cares about plastic awards, the fanbase remaining strong after many years is the true testament to true talent...he has it.

  • @whyutah He will be in their eventually. The thing is they are now realising that most modern music is a load of shit so they are having to save some acts behind cause they will run out of inductees soon!

  • @whyutah I so agree! They are above the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as far as I'm concerned.

  • @whyutah The only reason I want to see them there is because they deserve it so much more than The Beastie Boys!!!!!!!! ugh!

other than that, I agree with you 100%!

Justin and The Moody Blues will always be number one in my heart and soul!!!!!!!

  • 34 Years old and this is still one amazing song to hear again and again. Justin's too dam good for that pukey place in Cleaveland called the "Rock & Roll Hall of Fame". They can have their sex pistols, and all those hoopla bands who wore junk, colored their hair or did strange things. I'll just be happy hearing this man - one of the few greatest songwriter & musicians of the last 40 years.

  • Justin is the master!

  • Just saw the Moody Blues at Montage Montain PA. I was in Heaven!

  • FANTASTIC, I am very happy for you and so jealous at the same time. I saw them years ago in St Cloud, MN back in the early 70's, Fabulous show.

  • Justin, you sang so beautifully last night at the concert. I didn't want it to end. What will we do when you aren't here anymore? You sing like an angel

  • dragonlover1955 to MinnesotaNice64 I don't know if you remember interacting with me through you tube, I suggested that you listen to King and Queen, I am so happy for you that you have gotten to see them in concert!!! They are endless in their talent. Happy listening to you

  • To answer the chord question: I think he's tuned his guitar down a whole step. So the first chord, G, is played as an A, C's are played as D's, etc...this also the reason the guitar sounds so full too, since it's easier to add extra notes to the A shaped chord than the G shaped. I think he's adding 4ths and 7ths. I hadn't had a chance to test all this out yet, but maybe this will help someone get started!

  • Note what his thumb is doing on the intro too. He's adding notes with it.

  • awesome!!!!

  • If and when I figure it out I'll post the chords.

  • Dang you, Justin! I've been playing my acoustic for years and have always thought, "Well, if HE had to play it in the living room, sitting on the couch, no BAND, just him and an acoustic guitar, well... Jesus, and you sound like THIS??? Man, oh man... OUTSTANDING!!!

  • Larry, you are so right! Outstanding is the perfect word. How can one guitar sound so beautiful and full, no need for other instruments... and Justin sounds great!! I can't wait to see him for the first time next Thursday!!! I hope he sings like this, alone, a song or two.

  • Um, sorry..."guitar"!

  • THIS is THE BEST version of this song I've ever heard! Proves that on some songs, Justin needs only a guiyar, and nothing or anyone else...to perform some of the most beautiful music the world has ever heard!

  • @werblun well said my friend! just simply the most beautiful!!!!!!!!

  • @werblun most Justin songs only need him and a guitar:)

  • @werblun BRAVO ! Good Show ! Justin, even without the band, is just one of the supremely talented singer/ musician/songwriters that Ever Lived, and this particular song touches me so deeply that any chance I might have had to be eloquent and poetic, vanishes in an instant. I Love You, Justin. You will never know how much you have given me, by way of your music.

  • Simply fantastic!

  • what is the hall of fame waiting on with moody blues, knopfler/dire straits, and frampton

  • Justin without the sidekick....eternal, and indeed priceless.

Brother Rock n' Roll is gonna kill me one of these days hehe.

  • His voice is like a fine wine..........

  • Justin is an absolute genius!!

  • Justin and John, best of the best forever

  • Does anyone know what chords he's playing?

  • The song reminds me of my first girl friend .. when she broke up with me. I loved her very much and still miss her after all these years. I wish her the best with her family.

  • Justin Hayward is and always was... pure class.

  • There is no one in this universe like Justin Hayward! He is a true talent that is unsurpassed...

  • He has such a beautiful set of pipes that has only gotten silkier over the years and what a beautiful song!!!

I love the way he uses his thumb on his left hand when he plays his guitar.

  • This voice and Justin are wonderful!!

  • These sessions are great..wonderful recording;) Into my faves, thanks Billy ;)

  • Justin's voice is one of the most beautiful in all of rock and roll. Absolutely beautiful!

    This song makes me cry.

  • Does anyone have a good source for justin hayward sheet music

  • what a beautiful song.. I love Justin's voice in this as well. thanks for posting.

  • Sublime! Música divina!

    VCoimbra

  • Thanks so much for this. From "Nights' I was hooked - still love to hear his voice.

  • The Blue Jays album was always one of my favorites. Wonderful to hear this rendition of one of the songs from that collection.

  • OK I have an copy of this album from '75 and it means so much to me (I'll never for get the first time I heard and who I was with) but can anyone tell the story of this video? What year is it and what is the story behind it?

  • Best songwriter ever. Said with love.

  • Most of the songs from "Blue Jays" appear on the Moody Blues Anthology CD

and you can order the original if you

yahoo Justin Hayward and Lodge Blue

    Jays. Andy S. Canoga Park

  • Thank you, I will try this

  • Thank you so much, that worked. I really love this song, and right now it is hitting home. So the CD is on the way, YAY

  • @decompressu Also the 'Time Traveller' album- 5 cd set.

  • Can anyone tell me where to buy this CD? I have been searching all over the web and can not find any place to get it. I just love the Moodies, they are the best.

  • Does'nt say much about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

  • To think I knew this man when I was 17 and let him slip through my fingers. Damn!!

  • it doesn't matter if HE is not at the rock and roll hall of fame ; HE is much better than a rocker !

  • Justin, your voice and Karen's always brought me into a different place. 1974-1975 was a turning point in my life, thanks to you & John Lodge.

  • It´s amazing how he maintains his voice in such good form!

  • I have to agree! His voice is soothing, sexy and intense! AND he's still hot!

  • Justin Hayward has one of the most amazing voices in music. He and The Moody Blues are so laughably underrated. The fact that they have yet to be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is such a joke. Reading the comments on this video, I'm glad there are others who love Justin and The Moodies as much as I do.

  • Man, I couldn't agree more! They should have been in the rock Hall years ago. What a travesty. The Moodies are one of the greatest bands ever.

  • I'm on board with you on this sentiment. I've been enjoying the Moody Blues since their reunion tour in 1979. I joined a (short lived) fan club as temporary artist, and am still hooked on their music to this day. I, too, am constantly amazed that they haven't been inducted.

  • I can't believe they're not in the H.o.F. I just assumed that they were. I've loved them since the 60s.

  • I agree with you all. Rock, spirit, dreams, visions of peace. Justin's and the Moodyblues' songs remind us of where we all come from....LOVE!

  • I really don't think Justin and the Moodies get the recognition they so much deserve. The Moodies, and Justin, have made my life so happy. I, too, am glad there are other Moodies and Justin fans here. I love you all!

    Love, Jusfriend

  • Didn't know there was such a thing,Goeijenbier. But I fully support your efforts. The Moodies deserve the Nobel Peace Prize, in fact! Their music will truly stand the test of time, long after these other so-called "singers" are history. The Moodies are true peacemakers.

    Love, Jusfriend

  • I'm so happy to find other justin fans here. I thought to myself am I crazy or is this just one incredible artists cause theres not so much public recognition for him. but i see a lot of us justin fans are out there lol musica

  • Who would like to support me to get The Moody Blues, i.c. Justin Hayward honoured by a NOBEL MUSIC PRIZE in 2009?? If support for my initiative is substantial, I'd like to spend quite some hours to realize that dream. I think they deserve such an honour because of their top class music for decades and more than one generation.

    Jan Goeijenbier (Rotterdam, Holland)

  • I would Jan most definitely. They deserve it so much.

    John Russell Reilly

    Gloucester,MA USA

  • Dear John,

Thanks! Do you want to start in the US, I'll try to mobilise Europe.

In case of luck, I suggest we'll both be in Stockholm when TMB receive their Noble Prize!

    Jan Goeijenbier

  • noone deserves it more. I'm in

  • Justin Hayward will always be my favorite singer of all time. His voice is so magical and so beautiful. He has captured my heart like no other singer ever could. More important than anything, he writes MUSIC! These other so-called singers can't hold a candle to Justin Hayward. I will love Justin forever.

    Love, Jusfriend

  • i love this live unplugged version. justin is such an awesome musician. pure quentessenceof talent!

  • this song is awesome anyone know where to get the guitar tabs for it?

  • I love this song! The Blue Jays album was awesome! Reminds me of Kurt, he even sounded like him when he sang.

  • MBicer,

I totally agree with you about the recent Rolling Stone Mag's 100 best singers!! I cannot believe Hayward was not included in this list!! His voice is an unforgetable range of emotion. The man is an angel in Gods choir

  • Jann Wenner is an asshole.....

  • Hello, very nice song & video, my fave songs from the Moody Blues are "Nights in White Satin" and "Tuesday Afternoon", they bring back a lot of special memories for me..

  • The R&R Hall of Fame is nothing more than Jann Wenner's playtoy. He controls it now that Ahmet Ertugun is dead and only votes for what is on his ipod. He hates progressive rock. Can the Moodies be too cloying sometimes, sure. But I do believe they feel and still believe in the peace and love dogma that have carried them through. If you want to judge the people running the R&R Hall of Fame, they just released a new Rolling Stone with the best 100 singers. It's a total joke ... again.

  • The Moodies music will last forever, the crap they're churning out today will go by the wayside where it belongs...

  • rock and roll hall of fame indeed. what do they know anyway. the moody's are way better musicians than probably most in that so called hall of fame. we moody fans are the real judges though aren't we? to the greatest rock band ever. your names are engraved in our hearts and souls as a part of our lives in your music. they'll always be the greatest as far as i'm concerned

  • I agree your high views about MOODY's . I wish very young people ( chindren's of our...)Can knew the bright world they gave us. We are lucky to surf on waves Justin bring us always; Because our back-stage memory is full of MOODY's jewells! I wish youth coming knew the universal stream of warm living inside this music. Beyond the self-playing machines!

  • This song has always sent chills up and down my spine. The words must be true. Love this song!

  • A beautiful song sung by a beautiful man. I have loved Justin for SUCH a long time. He captured my heart with his singing and his stage presence. His face is so lovely and his voice is so beautiful. I'd like to thank Justin for being as wonderful as he is.

  • just a fantastic musician/song writer!!!!!!!!!!!!
