  • for someone who does not have strong lower abdominals, wouldnt the illiopsoas mg come into play a lot more near the eccentric phase?

  • Yes, the slower pace feels better than going rapid fire. I see some people just charging through these, but I find that I sore up undesired parts of my body going at a fast speed.

  • @JosFcGamesta It's not normal but many people suffer from back pain . Either your abs aren't strong enough, or you have muscular imbalance, or done other exercises with bad farm. Could be an other explanation but check if it could be any of those.

    my sternocleidomastoid muscles (muscles of neck) they get fatigued when i do crunches...

    am i doing it the right way ? is this normal or am i stressing my neck ?

  • Umm i'm 16 i've been doing this exercise for about 1 and a half week now , i can feel my six pack now just by touching the area around it , it's like a rock , i think that in 1 month or 2 i'll have a 6 pack ready , just sharing my experience. ( i do this excersise about 6-7 times a day )

  • I do 50 of these on a daily basis. I start with a set of 30 and then two sets of 10. :D I count one for each two. that helps

  • @samcwalk That means that you did a good job it was probably the first time you did this workout just give it like a max of 3 day to ware off and if its a sharp pain go see a doctor if its a burn type thing or fells like its tight then thats normal.

  • I would do 12 to 15 reps and three sets... Once that starts getting easy then you can add some extra resistance like ankle weights to your feet or be rsting a weight plate across your chest.

  • I was messing around and found this out on my own. I didn't know I was doing them right. Coolio. To add a little extra, try to not touching the ground with your hands. Helps build a better sense of balance.

  • they are safe for women, and and u do as many as u can until it gets uncomfortable. and keep trying to do more and more each week, hope this helps , good luck and congrats about the baby:)

  • Tried doing a few just now....they're a LOT harder than they look! I think I might have to stick with the easier exercises for a while and try to work up to these V crunches.
