Oh please guys, never buy an animal froma pet store, they have no history or backround - mainly inbred causing all sorts of future problems, unsocialized.. i could write a book on why pet stores are cruel and should NOT be supported. What you have there is an Agouti colour, beautiful but they should only be sold in pairs or more as they are herd animals and get very depressd when alone with no cage mate

My sister had a goldfish and it died within 1 day or so she won it at the fair she got back put it in a tank and it kept hitting itself on the glass it killed itself....she wasnt actually planning on getting a goldfish the guy just gave it to her guess he wanted get rid of em we didnt have a big tank for it cause nobody was knowing she was coming back with 1 neither did my sister
If you can't pick up the igloo, how do you get them out to clean under them every day? My pigs poop all over inside there and I don't want them standing in that day after day,. Thanks
@petmomful to clean everyday you first have to get them to trust you and then they'll come out of their igloo when you come near the cage. Then lift the guinea pig out and into a enclosed guinea pig proof space and move the igloo into the enclosed space and clean the cage. Or you can get the guinea pig to come out of the igloo by a treat and while their out move the igloo to another spot in the cage and clean that area.
@OmgFalicia My daughter piggy gets really vocal when any member of our family comes in the room.But I have a big surprise for her a three story diy piggy home 4'x4' and hopefully three new family members.

Why aren't you supposed to lift the igloo? Does that scare them? How are you supposed to pick them up then? Thanks. I just got 2 piggy girls and I want to do everything right.
@petmomful The igloo is there only way to be secure. NEVER lift it because then they become scared and won't learn to trust you. You just try to bond with them with treats and eventually they will come out of their igloo and begin to trust and love you. I can't explain it all on here but look up on google or youtube way to bond with new guinea pigs. I've owned guinea pigs for about 5 years, and trust me you won't do everything right the first time xD. The best thing to do is learn from mistakes.
